Bro, this isn't even up for an argument. Algeria has the best military in Africa, especially when all indices are taken into account.

Egypt might have a bigger military, however a large number of their equipment are prone to sanctions.
The last paragraph is still doubtful. I don't understand when you say prone to sanctions. Isn't it the Egypt that is a western ally?!
Egypt have the best army in Africa. Egyptian Army is the most Battle tested in North Africa. They are the most experienced.
Algeria has an Army anyone will wish for. They have a very good defense force overall, but it is untested. We can't vouch for something untested. Egypt over Algeria.

Hope you know that Egypt has shown near Saudi level incompetence in its ongoing war against IS in the Sianai. They have pretty posh equipment, but their personal infantry kit for the Army and battlefield tactics are still stuck in the Cold War.

Additionally, are we forgetting Algeria's gained battlefield experience from as recently as their civil war in the 90's??

The Egyptian army isn't as bad as the Saudi army. The Egyptian armed forces operation in the Sinai region has been largely successful. Their have been a huge reduction in attacks in the homeland.
Talking about incompetence, Saudi Arabia is in its on league. I do accept the fact that Saudi soldiers are very ill-disciplined.
The Egyptian army tactics has large evolved. You can't say a country like Egypt purchasing large quantities of military equipments from major suppliers around the world won't evolve tactics in order operate those equipments effectively in the battle space. With all due respect, that's a wrong statement and perspective on the Egyptian army.

Algeria gained experience from it civil war. In fact, the mode in which it wiped out islamists, need to be studied closely by our military. Don't get me wrong, I'm not downgrading the Algerian army, but it's not in Egypt's level. Egypt is clearly the most tested and experienced.

OK.

The bulk of Egypt Fighter fleet is American. F-16

The bulk of Egypt Frigate fleet is American, French & Italian.

The bulk of Egypt's tank fleet is American.

Should Egypt go to war with Israel, hypothetically speaking those, Israel will get so much military and political support from America, that the Egyptian military would nearly ground to a halt.

It's not the same with Algeria. Algeria military buys primarily from Russia, in a sustained war with Morocco for example Algeria would continue to receive military support from Russia irrespective of political pressure.

So in my opinion Algeria has the best military in Africa giving that they have manpower & political support to conduct and sustain any war.

That's not correct. Egyptian military is heavily dependent on western systems.

Look at Mali for example, they can't receive the C-295 they bought from Airbus because America won't approve the delivery.

grin funny. You're right to some extent tho.
Your scenario is about a hypothetical situation in which Egypt goes to war with Israel.
Reasons I got into this conversation, is because of the earlier comparison made with the Algerian army. An army that is totally outclassed by the Egyptian army in terms of equipment, discipline and doctrine: later into the debate we started talking about "military" and "armed forces". I hope you are aware that the Egyptians have factories and structures across the country to support the manufacturing of m1a1 abrams tanks and also have support facilities for its f16s. Every contract signed for the supply of military equipments, the Egyptians ensure it includes setting up support structures for those equipments. We've seen what Iran did with its F14 tomcats. Egypt will go to war with Israel and sustain itself but will probably lose in the long run because of superior technology.

Some big, big news for the Nigerian Navy.

House Okays Establishment of Nigerian Maritime Trust Fund

The House of Representatives at the plenary Thursday gave approval for the establishment of Nigerian Maritime Trust Fund for the purpose of training, provision of security equipment and related facilities and enhance the skills of the personnel of the Nigerian Navy.

Presenting the report, Gagdi said the Bill would provide for the establishment of a special fund for training and retraining of naval personnel for optimum productivity

He also said that it would provide funding for equipment and machinery that would aid the seamless protection of waterways by the Nigerian Navy.

On sources of the trust fund, he explained that it shall consist of an amount constituting 1 per cent of the total revenue accruing to the Federation Account.

He added that it will also consist of an amount constituting 1 per cent of the total revenue accruing to revenue generating federal government agencies operating in the Nigerian Maritime Environment, which include: Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigeria Inland Waterways Agency (NIWA) and Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG).

Nigerian Navy wants $1.3 billion acquisition programme

Written by Oscar Nkala/defenceWeb -10th Aug 2017

The Nigerian Navy needs $1.3 billion to acquire new hardware to secure its territorial waters, according to Navy Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, who is seeking the acquisition of at least five new ships.

Addressing a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety and Administration, Ibas said the required long term acquisitions include a general-purpose frigate valued at $350 million, a long-endurance Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) valued at $120 million, a medium-endurance OPV estimated at $60 million, a landing platform dock ship worth $350 million and a landing ship-tank valued $90 million.

Other required assets include a submarine worth $300 million, a Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) worth $10 million and a specialised naval security helicopter at an estimated cost of $25 million.

Following this National Assembly hearing in 2017.

The Nigerian Navy has achieved the following;

- 1 Landing Ship Tank (LST) built, delivery scheduled for 2022. Multiple reports suggest another LST order is in the works.

- 1 AW-139 helicopter delivered with , 3 x AW 109 helicopters on order.

- 2 OPVs ordered

- 1 Seaward Defence Boat almost complete, SDB 4 already in the works.

- Plans in motion to get approval to purchase a Frigate

- 2 x Hydrographic ships ordered, 1 already delivered.

Good clearance;another excellent Saffa MRAP which leads me to a logical question: how many MRAP makers exactly are there? I can name OTT,Paramount,DCD,Denel and Milkor and there should be at another 10 building off prevous success of predecessors. At what point does market saturation come into play?
Very good question re "MRAP" manufacturers. We have over 120 defence companies with 85% export revenue.
Saturation would only apply for the domestic market, no?

Large market outside SA; notwithstanding Denel's current problems. For instance, 2020 saw over $1 billion worth of trade for an industry beset with problems from the largest company, Denel.

I was offered a visit on it once but I declined, but I have stood beside it, while talking to someone onboard . It's a pretty good ship, it came with Chinese technicians, and they were still in Nigeria years after it arrived in Nigeria, now I wish I had gone onboard, I know the navy gave a tour to ex navy secondary school students and a boat ride too.
woow that's interesting.

Please watch and enjoy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcJhbcyy59A

Having watched this documentary, it clears up the misconception I earlier had that the M346FA will halt more purchases of the JF-17.

The senior Air Force official said the M346FA will replace our Alpha Jets & L-39ZA some of which are over 40 years old.

This means NAF would still get approval in the near future for more JF-17 fighter jets.

İ think there may have been a calculation that 2 LST = 1 LPD.
The LPD was to be of Indonesian origin and not too expensive.
Do we understand that the country can commandeer civillian ships with good cranage systems and achieve the same things?.

Anyway, i think the new financing bill can provide the funding framework to achieve the same things.

What's up with the F7-NI, how long does it take to maintain those aircrafts? It's been a long time since they left for China.
