drDoom3:Majority of the passes in that half were played to his weaker foot, hence the poor first touches. Notice that he didn't make those mistakes when playing on the left side of attack after switching with Laurientte. He plays like that alot, then nets two goals. |

nelszx:Iheanacho , as much as I love him cannot hold AM position. He doesn't have the ability to keep ball in his possession when challenged by opponents and he lacks the stamina to command a midfield. That's the plain truth. |

What’s up with people and wanting their most clinical striker to play as an attacking midfielder? Iheanacho should be close to goal as much as possible. For now, the best attacking midfielder available is iwobi |

Chelsea Legend Gianfranco Zola: “Inter & Napoli Among 5 Scudetto Contenders, Victor Osimhen Is Romelu Lukaku’s Heir” Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 55-year-old gave his thoughts on who the top teams in Serie A are at the moment and singled out a key player who could allow one team to rise above the rest in the form of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. One of the things that ultimately separated Inter from the pack last season was the quality up front of Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian leading Serie A in combined goals and assists. With Lukaku gone to Chelsea, Zola believes that Napoli’s Osimhen is the player closest to him in quality in Serie A right now, and that the Nigerian can have a galvanizing effect for the Partenopei. "When he arrived in Italy two years ago, I didn’t know him well and I researched him,” Zola said. “I discovered a player very good in his movement. With his athletic strength he can be devastating. He is Lukaku’s heir. He is young and has enormous room for improvement.” https://sempreinter.com/2021/09/22/chelsea-legend-gianfranco-zola-inter-napoli-among-5-scudetto-contenders-victor-osimhen-is-romelu-lukakus-heir/ |

Victor Osimhen is fulfilling potential - should Liverpool move again? Patrick Hayes Liverpool should be considering making another move for Victor Osimhen following his latest goal-scoring exploits at Napoli. It has been a superb start to life under Luciano Spalletti for the Neapolitans. The result sees them sitting top of the Serie A table after five games. They are two points clear of the two Milan sides. They also picked up a decent draw away to Leicester City in their Europa League opener. Napoli quietly have an excellent squad and could be quietly confident about having a very successful season. This comes after a relatively disappointing campaign last term, when they finished fifth in Serie A. Well, they have one big advantage this season, and that is the return to fitness of Osimhen. His brace last night took him to three goals in four league matches this campaign, plus two more in that Leicester game. Osimhen’s first goal against Samp came when he stretched to volley home a Lorenzo Insigne cross. For his second, it was another first-time finish, this time from a low Chucky Lozano cross. The striker was involved in the build-up for both goals, which impressed us heavily. It just proves that, when fit, he is a phenomenal striker. Liverpool are expected to be on the market for a forward next summer. Still just 22, Victor Osimhen could be the perfect solution. Could the Reds go back in for a player that they were seemingly interested in previously? Osimhen was wanted at Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp One thing we are sure of is that Michael Edwards and co. will be well aware of Osimhen’s rich vein of form. Jurgen Klopp even personally asked for the player to be signed before he joined Napoli from Lille back in 2020, per journalist Ciro Venerato (speaking to Calcio Napoli 24 at the time). However, FSG were seemingly not willing to spend the £63m plus bonuses that Napoli paid for him. The Nigerian has somewhat gone off the radar since his move to Italy. When Liverpool were being linked to a host of forwards this summer, his name was rarely linked. Yet that was because he missed a lot of last season with injury, not because his standards dropped. He still managed 10 goals and three assists in 24 Serie A games, only 16 of which were starts. If he continues this season at his current rate of going, he will once again be spoken about as highly as when he managed to rack up an xG of 15.1 as a 20-year-old at Lille in 2019/20. If he stays fit, we cannot see any chance that Osimhen does not become an elite No 9. To be putting up the numbers that he has at such a young age is no easy task. So, Liverpool could well be back in for him by this time next year. He is certainly worth keeping an eye on for the next few months. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rousingthekop.com/2021/09/24/victor-osimhen-is-fulfilling-potential-should-liverpool-move-again/%3famp |

Ex-Bayern Munich Striker Luca Toni: “Napoli’s Osimhen Is A Top Player But Inter’s Attack Stronger” Ex-Bayern Munich Striker Luca Toni: “Napoli’s Osimhen Is A Top Player But Inter’s Attack Stronger” September 25, 2021 16:45 Legendary former Fiorentina, Bayern Munich, and Hellas Verona striker Luca Toni believes that Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the top individual striker in Serie A right now but that Inter have a stronger overall attack than the Partenopei. Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 44-year-old gave his views on the attacking talent currently in the Italian top flight and suggested that the Nerazzuri’s strength comes in the depth and versatility of their attacking talent. In Romelu Lukaku, Inter lost one of the most impactful strikers in Europe, with the Belgian having led Serie A for combined goals and assists last season before his summer movie to Chelsea. The Nerazzurri could not have found a player who directly replaces all of the Belgian’s qualities, but they did manage to bolster their attack with other kinds of reinforcements, and are now seeing the benefits with the strong early season form of Edin Dzkeo and Lautaro Martinez. “If Osimhen is fit and working with Spalletti he can improve and become a big player, Immobile is a certainty, I would like Vlahovic to prove himself. In the league, then, there are teams on similar levels, Inter also started well, Lautaro can have a great season, Dzeko started strong.” “Dzeko is a great striker,” he went on of the Nerazzurri man, “in addition to scoring goals he plays well for the team. He links the game between midfield and attack a lot, the only flaw is that he is not always precise in front goal. ”On the best attack in Serie A he said, “Inter, with Dzeko-Lautaro have a very strong attacking duo. Napoli don’t have many back-ups. ”And on which players would lead the line in his ideal Serie A eleven, he stated, “Osimhen in the centre, and on the outside someone who scores alongside the striker as I enjoyed, maybe Insigne. But I also like Abraham because he breaks down defenses.” https://sempreinter.com/2021/09/25/ex-bayern-munich-striker-luca-toni-napolis-osimhen-is-a-top-player-but-inters-attack-stronger/ |

Gernot Rohr set to gamble on youth for Super Eagles against Central African Republic AdemetanAbayomi Gernot Rohr is planning to name a young and experimental Super Eagles squad for next month's World Cup Qualifiers against Central African Republic in a move that could have ramifications for several established players. Rohr wants to use the match to give some of the younger players the experience of trying to cope against a team in their Group C Pool. If Rohr is planning something different, possibly bringing in the uncapped Akinkunmi Amoo of Hammarby and Union Berlin's Taiwo Awoniyi, it would represent a significant gamble on his part, given the strength of Nigeria's opponents. After picking six points from two games, wins against a team like Central African Republic would be a significant boost to Super Eagles' spirits. Some players are thought to be surprised that Rohr believes this is an occasion to make significant changes. But Super Eagles' manager is familiar with the younger players. Rohr has made a number of other calls to players who will not be involved and is understood to have broken the news to those he wants to be involved. They are Maduka Okoye, Joe Aribo, Zaidu Sanusi, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins, Semi Ajayi, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Shehu Abdullahi, Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu and Kelechi Iheanacho. |
