I grow through Deeper Life from children's church through to campus till now. Ohoo yes!!! We had (still have) some overzealous members who claim to be more catholic than the pope. I once had an encounter with a campus coordinator who claims football fans are fanatics worshiping idols. everything you wrote is just the classic anti-DL rhetoric. no single truth to it. I was watching Voltron and tales by moonlight as a kid, I watched ultimate power and Koto oron. The classic gospel of deeper Life in the 80s and 90s even up till today is following peace and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. [b]And if watching Tv will cost you that, don't watch!!! Not that tv is a devil box. [/b]There are people who will not accept you reading the bible from your phone. Even people who will not stand you reading from any other version of the Bible except KJV. Using those ones to judge DL as a church is been rigorously dishonest

Many of the people spreading propagandas about Deeper life are outsiders who don't know Jack about the doctrines of the church. I was born into deeper life and aside from those old days, deeper life have moved on from many of those. But many outsiders keep spreading the old doctrines.

He is having a program in Abuja, for all you know, his members may have arranged for the vehicle that will pick him at the airport.
In all, I don't think anyone should have a problem with how another person chose to spend his own money as long as he made it legitimately. And he never said his members shouldn't have a life. If you attend deeper camp programs, you will see the kind of cars the pastors drive.
There are just too many lies about the church and most of them are circulated by outsiders like you who have zero knowledge of happenings within the church.
They said deeper life members don't use TV, yet if you go to deeper church, you will see that every single deeper life church has a TV in it. Infact, it's compulsory. My dad is a pastor at deeper life yet he has a 55 inch plasma TV at home. Why is he not suspended yet?
They said the church has a ridiculous marriage doctrines yet Redeemed have tougher marriage doctrines and no one is talking about it. I married my wife in a Redeemed church and I know what we went through. Even as a deeper life member, I found it annoying at a point! I mean that church rejected her wedding dress 5 times. If it was deeper life, people will start talking.

Enough it's like you are new in deeper life iwas a leader then in the 80s it was a sin to take photographs in ceremonies you will be suspended and you dare not own a TV box you will be removed and barred from being a worker they are all worldly also your parents and families are termed unbelievers @ then these are preached openly they should deny it openly if they have embraced civilization

Ok I heard it myself. If members and local pastor were popularly calling tv such name all over, one could maybe say it originated from the top. That’s what deeper lifers and their local assembly pastors used to call tv. Their pastors used to preach against having tv at home and called it devils box. Even pastor Kumuyi asked his church to throw away their tv. Yes that’s what they used to call it in the 80s and early 90s. Most deeper life members started throwing away their TVs. Some did sell it. Stop talking about what you don’t know. You may not be old enough to know this then. Go and ask your older church members. They will confirm my point to you. No single crusade posters used to carry pastor Kumuyi’s picture in those early days. It all just started maybe in mid 2000. The only place you could see pastor Kumuyi’s picture in the 80s or 90s were on the books he published. Not on retreat posters or crusade posters. Only Jesus picture or any other befitting graphic.

I didn’t buy into any wrong narrative about the early days of deeper life. I’m saying what I personally know. Should I shock you again? In the early days of deeper life, if you wore nice expensive cloth, bought state of the art car, the church members would started looking at you and considering you as of the “world”.

Of course things and some doctrines have changed in the church. Your best option is to ask your church elders about the church past way of life instead of arguing what you don’t understand with me.

I have still never heard Kumuyi bragging about material possessions as some other church leaders do, so I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Take it or leave it, he's closer to God than most church leaders of this nation are.

He tried to get things right because of his love for God, but made some errors along the way. It's better than not trying at all or caring about doing things the right way, which is what many others are guilty of.

By the way, I am not a member of his church and don't think I have ever stepped my feet into a deeper life church building, but I have some respect for the man because I can see in him a man who really has the interest of God at heart.

And yes TV was and is still devils box
but as devil uses it as tool to destroy, we use it for evangelism to win souls to the kingdom.. If everything on screen is so good to watch, satellite TVs won't see the need to put parent control or even PG on there contents.. I don't honestly know the problem of you people with the church, if you're invited don't go, and no one will crucify you for that..
