Forget the stupid border wall sef, a few hundreds of these sensors and a highly mobile border guard/immigration officers/customs will stop most smuggling and illegal migration. |

Whyem15:If we re to be truthfully to ourself, those that defund the military can't be blamed. The nigerian army like overstepping their boundaries to much. They like interfering in civil matters. |

QuietMynd:Nigerian brains were made elsewhere tbh. All well funded, well equipped militaries rarely abuse civillians or attempt at seizing power. 100% the case. Please do your research. If military is overthrowing civillian power, it is a banana republic and probably that country has 10 MBTs, 100 technicals and 5 Mig21 jets. When a military is fully resourced with professionals and fully equipped, they rarely show interest in politics. And yes it is true, before the 3rd Republic and immediately after Abacha and the advent of the 4th Republic, ignorant people with intellectual pretensions would go on national TV and talk about comprehensive demobilization of the military. The prominent one I remember now is Falana but even the technocratic, ex World Bank set were also mouthing the nonsense. Demobilization of the Army to reduce numbers was also seen as the only way to raise finance for equipment. Now with insurgency and terrorism, all that nonsense is dead. A rider to all these is that you should never allow intellectuals in government. They are too irresponsible and cannot see reality. |

Whyem15:These are the things I've been advocating for all this while, I don't really know why it's that hard to achieve.. We don't need a wall, we can't even afford it but we can build a small fence or trenches just to make it hard for vehicles or motorcycles to cross easily which buys more time for the response unit. Secondly, building a wall will only radicalise the criminals and force them to learn and employ turnel strategies. And the interesting thing part of it is that the northern border terrains are majorly flat terrain which makes it easy for the radars and cameras to capture a very long distance without obstruction like hills, mountains etc. However, systems like this will not be suitable for detecting ambushes cos lack of elevation will reduce its ability. |

Gunmen on Tuesday allegedly invaded the palace of Emir of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. The gunmen, it was gathered, stormed the palace around 6pm. DAILY POST gathered that the gunmen arrived on about 20 motorcycles, carrying three persons each, and shooting sporadically to scare residents of the area. DAILY POST learnt that a lot of traders in the Kagara market abandoned thier goods and scampered for safety on hearing the sporadic gunshots. A source said residents of the area have fled to the bush for safety to avoid either being kidnapped or killed by the armed gunmen. “The armed men arrived on twenty motorcycles through the Madaka road from where the Kagara boys were kidnapped some months back, this evening. They attacked the Emir’s Palace and the Kagara market. People were running helter skelter for safety. We cried to the security agencies and they arrived to help us. Many have left their homes and taken refuge in the bush. “The situation is bad now because of the network that has been jammed. We don’t know what is happening,” the source stated. Our Correspondent also gathered that during the attack, the Emir of Kagara Alh Ahmed Garba Gunna Attahiru II was not in the palace as he had been away from the town for a while. Efforts to get the reaction of the Chairman of Rafi LGA, Alh Ismaila Danmodibo, failed as he could not be reached. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Wasiu Abiodun, promised to get back to our reporter on the matter. https://dailypost.ng/2021/09/28/bandits-invade-emir-of-kagaras-palace-in-niger-residents-flee/ Imagine make you dey tell this Emir say GMB dey try cause nah him buy weapons pass for the military... for those who are saying rubbish about the airstrike in yobe state are big fool. iswap transport about 700 fighter from Libya to hold territory from military offensive. last mouth a meeting was held between iswap and some trained terrorist to help them fighter Nigerian military after some of their fighter surrender to the Nigeria military and some died in military offensive. over fifty (50) came under the control of Adu shab. . notice, before the ending of July to early this month there was a reduced in terrorist attack on Nigeria military. mid of this month they have being increased in terrorist attack on Nigeria military majorly ambush. new iswap tactic is to move from one location to another and not basing in one location in another to averted attack from both the Nigeria air force and army. the iswap Libya trained terrorist was afraid about the air surveillance in brono and it will prone them to air attack. so they decide to move their base to yobe state because yobe state have a reduce in air surveillance and air strike. so they decide to take there base to an border town of yobe a town between Nigeria ,chad and niger republic Intel was giving to the nigeria airforce and the nigeria army. last three week airforce stated and air surveillance over yobe state which one lead to the attack of both iswap and a civilian hold territory. the terrorist location have been under air surveillance for over two to three weeks. the air force refused to attack the location on severally occasion because of it causing tension and civilian damage in the town. at bout 12 to 1 am on Monday morning a Nigeria air force fleet back with the 123sf solider attack iswap Libya location in a border town of yobe state with sand off weapon. according to intel the base have the necessary power to attack any lowing flying jet like mi 35 and alpha jet. the iswap to Libya terrorist base was attack by nigeria airforce leading to the total destruction of the base. my question : what is fishermen doing in a well defend iswap base at about 12 to 1am. or fish na night they the catch am. Xbee007:This is totally insensitive, most of these fishermen have no where else to go or make a living. The state govt have been hammering on resettlement of refugees back to their communities, when they go back they must find something to sustain themselves and fishing is one of it, ISWAP are known to only tax them unlike BHT that kills both civilians and soldiers. Instead of blaming the victims blame the govt that insist people should go back to their communities when they know it's isn't safe. The victims are Nigerians and the least we could do is sympathise and pay compensations. |

Odunayaw:Hope you ain't tryna say Customs/Immigration are useless? Why will both services be occupied with less serious issues as border protection/monitoring when there are serious jobs like raiding markets in search of foreign rice, foreign salts etc or collecting egunjes at airports and other entry points to be done. We should rather compel the Peace corp and NYSC members to live up to their constitutional mandate as regards border protection/monitoring. I'm surprised this is even coming from you. |

ugo4u:You obviously don't know the meaning of the word "intellectual". A proven professional is not an intellectual. A business man is not. A general is not. An engineer is not. Intellectuals live to pursue knowledge and share universal truths in an abstract way without concern for immediate practicality. It is a lofty calling but not meant for leading people and achieving results. |

Most of the Lake Chad areas are Governed by ISWAP. Infact when ISWAP carried that ambush on Monguno road two weeks ago, they took some of the Soldiers caught alive to Kukawa market and shot them in the presence of Civilians. Our Supercamps defensive strategy will not yield the desired results. We need a massive operation in LAC region |

SamuelAnyawu:Shebi na part of the massive operation, enemies of state tagged killing fishermen. For me, any idiot found within a 20mile radius of ISWAP territory is a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer and they deserve to die. Reminds me of a tale I heard of the Liberian war and General Dogonyaro's war approach. Anybody beyond your DG line is an enemy, whether he is a child or a woman carrying a child. Shoot to kill. This stem the tide of child soldiers being used against the Nigerian Army at the time. If you know this story, you would relieve some of the glory days of the NNS Aradu and the famous statement "Are we in Liberia to keep peace or to enforce peace?" I think many of us here are just opposed to any of government's move to quell this insurrection. It is well. |
