Philosopher1979:Why are you guys doing like Onuachu is Unchangeable Changer? I don't get? ![]() Is it fair atall? Like, we all should just write him off when infact we've trusted worse forwards that we loved but didn't deliver? Me I'm not understanding o. SE style of play can change in next 4years and on and on. But isn't that the more reason not to write him off? So what if he now delivers? Chai. Lemme face front. Cc: samueltemi337 |

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is known to stick to his trusted legs, even in tight situations, but one man has caught the eyes of the Franco-German The list of players called up for the crucial World Cup qualifier doubleheader against the Central African Republic has been released, and Rangers fullback Calvin Bassey got his first Super call up. But who is the 21-year-old star? Bassey was born in Italy to a Nigerian father, but he grew up in England. As such, he is eligible to play for Italy, England and Nigeria. Eventually, he chose to represent the three-time African champions. The 21-year-old is having his break out season at the Ibrox under coach Steven Gerrard. Due to the Gers’ injury issues, he has had to play the left-back position, and he has put up a good shift, helping the Gers to victory in all the games he has featured in. Bassey started his career at Leicester City, where he rose from the academy to the youth team before joining Rangers in the summer of 2020. The Aosta-born left-back struggled in his first season as he only featured in seven Scottish Premiership games, but he has featured in seven games in all competitions this campaign. Whilst he is good defensively, Bassey could also be a big threat up front as he is a good crosser of the ball. The former Leicester City man has two assists to his name this season. The 21-year-old’s positive style of play is not far-fetched as he is a big fan of Real Madrid star Marcelo and Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who are known for their ability upfront. “Back then was Marcelo. I loved the way he got forward. He was quality on the ball,” Bassey told Rangers TV. “He’d do a little trick and get a cross in and get an assist or do a little trick, and next thing you know, he’s had a shot, and it’s a goal, so Marcelo is definitely one of my heroes growing up. “Right now, Alphonso Davies is a great player. He’s lightning-quick, and his ability to get up and down is amazing. “I feel you should always be open to learn no matter the level you’re watching or the level you’re playing. I always try to watch as much football as I can and learn from players who are playing in my position, he added.” Bassey’s ability could be a major tool in Rohr’s hands as the likes of Onuachu and Osimhen could benefit from his crosses. The two games against the Central African Republic is less than two weeks away, and the Aosta-born defender will hope that he gets his time under the sun |

nairalandankrah:Rohr don't have to be a genius to lift AFCON , once he is able to put d right XI on the pitch, the players can always organize themselves and win matches against african opponents except a country like senegal, but senegal is beatable with Rohr. But where we don't stand a chance with Rohr is at d WC. |

They should just chill. they knew a situation like this before buying him in d first place. Other players won't like it. |

I think people follow clubs so seriously that they forget it is country first. Is that not why we are on this thread? There are my threads for those who prefer to pledge their allegiance to clubsides. I would rather want to see Osimhen take us far in a WC than to win top scorer in Italy. We wish these players the best in their careers just as we dey hustle for our own career. But na for the love of Naija we dey follow them. jihday: |

Philosopher1979:Sometimes some of u guys will just make unsubstantial comments just because u don't fancy a particular player. So that goal he scored against benin republic look like an own goal, A march we almost came back empty handed, that he is now a square peg in a round hole, Just because we r blessed with other good strikers. This man deserve a respect, not all these |

Sanusi will be back and better! He is a special player! First African left back to play for Porto is a big deal, respect the boy! However, he needs to move to another club before that Porto coach kills his career! Starts him in champions league games but leaves him out of the team during league matches, who does that if not a career-killing coach! Ebeuhi non-invite has nothing to do with his qualities. He got injured playing for us thereby losing the opportunity to play for Benfica. I do think Rohr feels guilty and decides to give the boy valuable time to recuperate and get back to first-team footy with his new club (Venezia). Judging Ajayi with that Sierra leone performance is harsh cos Shehu has been worse playing for us in recent times. Personally, I do not think we need either of them instead I would have preferred Nwakali getting the call in their place. We know Musa has paid his dues but at this moment we have better players. Is Dennis/Moffi/Desser/Awoniyi/Okereke/Sadiq a joke to Rohr. How can you have these plethora of talents and keep calling up Musa and Shehu? Had it been Rohr is a Nigerian the criticism would have been immense. Yes, I support Rohr but if he keeps giving Shehu and Musa call ups I will stop my support even though it does not matter! |

Philosopher1979:Please tell me what style of play do we ( super eagles ) have. Is it tiki take, ghen ghen press or what is it. We that cannot string 10 passes in the opponent half. You’re here saying we get style of play. Na kick and follow, cross and head and pray it enters na be our game. No ever mention say we get style of play bros |

Samueltemi337:1 the decision is not up to you and never will be. 2 check his goal ratio and count how many strikers that are better than him in SE. statistically. 3 for him to play free flowing football for his club side. And finds it hard to register a shot on his country side, don’t you think something wrong somewhere |
