Oga, you still pay tax, check your shopping bills, especially from shopping malls, you pay tax when you buy certain things like fuel, make calls, and even some bank transactions, you even pay more tax if you're a government worker.
Why are you replying that educated illiterate. He does nt know that he can be charged for invading tax if not now it could be 40 years from now, it is an obligation and must be fulfilled irrespective of time. That is how people destroy their business in Nigeria because of ignorance, imagine paying 20 years accumulated tax at once how much it will be.

This company should never have been registered in the first place as individuals
don't have the right to copyright national assets or their derivatives.

By the time the case is over, this greedy company may cause trouble for other businesses with "Naira"
in their name, even Nairaland may be targeted.

You are right. When I heard of Nigeria Info, I was like who approved it.

The digital currency is e-Naira not Enaira.

Enaira should be short-down and compensation paid.

Digital currency is the future.

They won't stop dollars from entering because we need it for international trade and payments. In short, the CBN would do anything to encourage legitimate inflows Bitcoin was stopping from dollars from coming (by being used for remittance instead of fiat) and then taking out the remaining one we had in the black market.
Individuals basically never trade BTC in FX. They do P2P in naira.

How do people get Bitcoin? Forget the scammers and the money launders, not everyone that claims to be a Bitcoin trader is a true trader. Cryptocurrency has nothing to do with the falling Naira, anyone that claims diffferently is full of sh*t! How does Bitcoin stop dollars from coming? Shouldn't it be the other way around since Bitcoin would be converted to dollars before exchanging for Naira? This is what vast majority of people do and it is not different from the numerous businesses in Nigeria earning/operating in dollars.

What exactly is legitimate inflows, before Bitcoin are you saying people were not operating with dollars? Are you saying the demansd for dollars was easily satisfied by the supply from CBN? Once again the problem is not crypto, the problem is financial policies that are stuck in the 19th century. A country cannot operate on imports and little export, huge debt profile and rising inflation yet still expect its currency to hold value, how can Naira strengthen against dollars when 80% of businesses, individuals in 9ja use the dollar as their main transaction currency with the outside world? Let's face it, na we dey do ourselves!

The bolded is false. People would rather send crypto to their family members now than say Western Union. Crypto is expensive and all but it's not useful to our habit of importing everything. You can't import an awful lot with crypto, it's not legal tender, so it's mostly useful as a speculative asset and store of value.
Yes, policies are bad but crypto is one of the many issues. It could go out of hand if the government leaves it unchecked. Crypto value is only estimated in USD or fiat equivalent, not converted.

The name '"Naira" should be a copyright which belongs to the Federal Government through the CBN

I hope they don't sideline the company politically.

The company is only chasing clout. Naira is a trademark brand license to Nigeria. Using Naira in your brand itself worth paying royalty to the Federal Government

I don't know what you're talking about, majority of people sending money to their family and friends are not using crypto, for goodness sake how do you think people get crypto? Vast majority of people don't even know what crypto is, not to talk of how to obtain one. Crypto value is estimated? Here's a shocker so is fiat! The U.S treasury is no longer backed by anything, the Nigerian treasury is a joke so what are we talking about....lol abeg stop playing grin

Yes, the vast majority is through US dollar. But more people are using stable coins. I see people requesting to be sent stable coins a lot.
Fiat is indirectly backed by a COUNTRY'S PRODUCTION and the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX. Of course, not officially. But that's the might behind fiat money. Every value is estimated and I'm well aware of that fact. Anything can be worth a million or a thousand depending on some factors.

How about Nairaland?

The government has what is called "Compulsory right of acquisition".

If it deems it necessary to acquire the name for the greater good of the public then it has a right to do so

Maybe those with the naira names should try and sue government first and see what will happen next.

What is a social contract? an implicit agreement among the members of a society to cooperate for social benefits, for example by sacrificing some individual freedom for state protection. Theories of a social contract became popular in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries among theorists such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as a means of explaining the origin of government and the obligations of subjects.

Government suppose to even sue his ass for making money with government franchise without remitting any forms of royalty to the government.

Are u comparing CAC registration with an Act of the National Assembly smh. Even the Court where he sued was created by Law, not CAC registration ok!
CAC is an act also. The Court or national assembly cannot prejudice against it's own act or law themselves...National assembly and the court are establishment of such act or law, if they question the existence of CAC and their lawful task, their own existence, task and duties will also be affected...the law was enacted for a purpose and the post will not be shifted for any unwholesome reason for a name registration.

Speaking from experience, you can almost register any name with CAC as long as another person does not own it
and it is not expressly illegal. Words like Nigeria, Naira and the rest that should be protected are freely given out.

BTW, company registration is not the same as copyright or trademark.
That's is not true, you cannot register all name. They are reserved names you can't register...CAC didn't put eNaira on the reserve name...their own problem. Company name are not trade marked by CAC but they entity recognized by law as specific to a particular individual or organization to conduct lawful business. It's also a prerequisite for trademark application. Company's name registration is a recognised entity by law for business purposes.
