Kalabari has never been Ijaw until the Kaima declaration. The truth will always come out some day about how Nigeria was manipulated by a group of people to suit a particular interest that is not of the people. In an extended sense of it Kakabari becomes Ijaw based on riverine cultural similarities and like one of them wrote for political convenience and population strength. I believe it's better for Kalabari to unite with other ethnic groups of like mind as Ijaw but history shouldn't be distorted to push the agenda.
