Mister , be honest with yourself and know peace; there is a reason why the Igbo claim Western Igbo groups but never Isoko. We speak same language with Agbor and Ukwuani groups but we have stopped calling them Igbo because they said they want separate identity, and we respect that. Same applies to Kalabari, they want to stand alone and maintain their identity and in their defense they have every reason because they don't speak same language nor practice same culture. Leave them alone.

I have said this severally when the time comes ijaw nation will be reduced to just 3 local govt areas in Bayelsa creeks.
Ijaws are land grabbers, sea pirates, roadside criminals, vandals, cultists just to mention but a few.
Their time is up.

When we were hammering this info for years, a lot of folks thought we were lying. Now the Kalabari themselves are asserting their ethnic identity. Where’s Captain and his Bayelsa/Delta Ijo boys to dispel this information.

Kalabari has never been Ijaw until the Kaima declaration. The truth will always come out some day about how Nigeria was manipulated by a group of people to suit a particular interest that is not of the people. In an extended sense of it Kakabari becomes Ijaw based on riverine cultural similarities and like one of them wrote for political convenience and population strength. I believe it's better for Kalabari to unite with other ethnic groups of like mind as Ijaw but history shouldn't be distorted to push the agenda.

I had always taught Kalabari were Ijaws until I saw this post in my Facebook feed.

If Kalabari says they are not Ijaw, allow them na. Unity-begging/land-grabbing is a chronic disease. That's why Igbos and foolanis don't see eye to eye.
