Did you acquire it as a Nigerian used or tokumbo? If it’s Nigeria used then follow your mechanics suggestion but if it’s tokumbo then use a good oil with the 5w30 weight for it.

OK bro thanks so much. Nigeria used it is

Good day gurus.

Please between Honda civic, Honda city and Honda accord, which is more preferably for Uber hustle in terms of durability and fuel economy wise?

Thanks in anticipation

Go for Civic, and if you want one that is close to corolla ruggedness go for the 2003 to 2005... the only downside is it transmssion, but can be minimise if you use manuafacturer's fluid. The other option is the 2006 to 2011, no major downside, transmsission and engine are ok, just the suspension (control arm bushen, engine mount, shock setup) not as durable as the 2003 to 2005 but can be minismised my driving carefully around rough road, bump and pot hole. It also has more sensors which are inter-connected, unlike corolla , any issue with one sensor can seriously affect your fuel consumption or car performace, so ensure you have a scanner and a passion for doing little research before for you drop the car for the rewire or mechanic otherwise they will mess things up for you. Also find and keep a trusted part seller, luvinghubby is one. Stick with tokunbo parts than new ones.

I use the 2007, and I follow the rules, it iis better than corolla if you do.

Avoid the version made for African and Asian , parts are more expensive they have more issues though I dnt know why , buy the american version, go with an Honda rewire guy, not necessarily mechanic, please scan, check if the emission status are all ready, if not drive the car until the status are ready, at leat the 02 sensor and the catalyst, if the radiator fan is connected directly or no thermostat or water used as coolant , please price the car as though you will replace the engine in 3 month, luckily the engine at 130kish is not as expensive as corolla 320kish. Drive the car on a free way and ensure all the gears shift perfectly, check the bushen and engine mount for cracks. Check power steering for leak. Price accordingly

I intend buying Honda accord 2004 model but friends are discouraging me. Advising me to go for Toyota Camry 2003 instead. Pls is there any advantage of 2003 Camry over Honda accord 2003? Advice urgently needed. Thanks

Snap the gear exchanger so we understand your mech better.
The gear exchanger is hidden, and difficult to snap for anyone understanding.
I think what i will do is to scan and post the code here

there is no advantage.they are on same year and grade,I prefer the accord because it feels more premium.choose the one you like, they are both nice cars.to me the camry looks like a grandmas ride.the accord is sporty for a guyman, that camry ages quick too.

03 Honda accord transmission is prone to failure. The leather upholstery is prone to sagging and plastic trim mouldings around the seat bottom is prone to coming apart.

Upholstery sagging is e feature common with every vehicle, none is exempted. Transmission failure applies to all vehicles if not maintained properly

Isn’t it majorly in its 6cyl versions that the transmissions were prone to issues? I think the 4 plugs own were stable at the time

I am an Honda guy, but for the 03 to 07 year, I will go for the accord, 06 or 07 at least. Yes the gear is sensitve but cheap, but the engine is rugged and cheap. The camry engine is sensitive but more expensive, one overheating can destroy the engine, the transmssion of 03 to 04 is rugged, the transnsmion of 05 to 06 is sensitive and expensive.

For the accord go for the cloth interior not leather. Do leg check every 4 month.... Odiegwu

True.

Using mine for 10 years and still going strong.

• No Transmission issue.
• No Leather upholstery issue.
• No wheel problem (check quarterly and you're good to go)

I'm no fan of no boring Toyota. I only love fascinating cars... But to be honest, Toyota doesn't need all the bashing they are giving it..

honestly Toyota is not a bad car not at all, just that from my observation people are getting tired of how they always discourage guys from experiencing other brands, when ever someone says he wants to get a car,its always get a Camry or corolla(which are a very good brands no doubt, infact also have both)
But they make it look like anything other than those two you won't experience peace of mind, yet I see folks using other brands like Benz, accord, civic etc for many many years and have served them very well, the Toyota or nothing folks should stop forcing the brands on people, its good to advice from personal experience, and its totally another thing to condemn other brands that such individuals have probably NEVER used their whole lives.

well ,since you dont know about all these,my boss owns one and he complains all the time.3 years ago you advised me not to get an accord, but it's the best decision I made because I failed to listen to you and do my own research, then I bought a good unit.wether the ball joint pull or not, pple still buy Honda,e still full road, mechs who cannot repair it are the ones who badmouth it.gudnite.

Your boss owning one and complaining shows there's something wrong somewhere. It's either his maintenance habits or his mechanic shortchanging him. I'm genuinely glad that you made a decision and you didn't regret your decision. I am also glad that you didn't take my advice so that when things went sour, you won't come for my head. Good night.

Mostly not correct. Connecting the fan directly and using water as coolant iare certainly not advisable but making an assumption that such an engine would pack up in '3 months' is certainly an exaggeration. Many people I know have used their cars thatN way for several years without any problems..Many have equally bought cars directly from overseas but drove straight into trouble within weeks. A car should be inspected before purchase and the general state of the engine should evaluated by scanning, test driving and general checks. Bad connections can be reversed and wrong fluids changed to the right ones, if the car checks out fine at the point of purchase.
