That was how I was babmouthed when I bought my EOD but could you believe that I haven't done any thing regarding to the legs for 2 years and running? Only changed ball joints the second day I bought the car, bought all tires and I haven't heard a damn noise. Been traveling with it. Only problem I've had is changing my transmission.
Last week when it rained in my area heavily throughout the week, we spotted 2 corolla and spider knocked soaking in the water and my EOD and a civic passed through same water comfortably. I'm talking full flooded almost covering my tires. No single water entered both cars. I would have avoided the road if there was an option.
The next day we also saw a RAV 4, C300 and spider ball joints pulled out along the express way. We didn't come across any Honda.
This was my personal experience this past week raining period. A guy using an rx300 was complaining bitterly about how his transmission has been misbehaving since he passed through the same water during that rain and his car is in the workshop. I guess
People who complain about Honda don't maintain their car or Honda is rugged somehow. Switching from BMW to Honda I don't regret any part of it

people who badmouth honda have not used it before.when you use it and maintain it well it will serve you.toyota is good too but it's too light for me,too much plastics

Relocation. Sold it and decided to buy something different. BMWs feel is quite heavy. I missed that. Never visit the mechanic for anything major. Just routine change of oil for 7 years of use.

My abs light is on my dashboard then i notice the abs cable was cut on the driver’s wheel

My question is is there any need fixing it cos i do not know the function on abs in my car

Stabilizer linkages or bushings or both, upper control arms, ball joints or caliper pins.

Could be any of those, do a more detailed check

sadly i think it is the ball joint according to the mechanic , i changed it just July 18th

its so stressful

There's absolutely every need to urgently fix it. ABS helps to control your car during emergency braking. It does this by not allowing your wheels to lock up and cause the car to slide uncontrollably. ABS also prevent slip out or spin out of cars in slippery conditions and on corners during braking.

Without ABS functioning in your car, its like a bullet on a damage mission.

Good afternoon house, please I need to it assistance here with My Honda Accord 05.

If I start the engine and put the gear in drive it doesn’t work/select all the time, unless it’s place on reverse then back to drive before it’ll select, last night the drive shift didn’t work at all, then this afternoon it started working when I tried it again

What could be the cause or i should start thinking of gear replacement?

What kind of transmission fluid do you use? What color is the fluid on the transmission dipstick?

You're on point...Very true!

I have used only Honda (Accord) since 2001 till date. My first car was 94 accord(Bull dog),My second was 2002(EOD),then upgraded to 2008 accord(Anaconda),later 2012 accord...Presently using Accord 2015 EX trim.
If you maintain your Honda car, you'll have peace of mind and you'll enjoy it.

Those using 'ball joint' problem to down grade HONDA are deceiving themselves. Your bad 'ball joint' will always give you sign for days even weeks before it embarrasses you!

This may not be a transmission issue. Does the car shift gears smoothly when it is in 'D'? If it does, you may have a malfunctioning transmission range sensor. That should give you a trouble code and illuminate check engine light. You may scan the car to begin with. Cheers!

it doesn’t shift smoothly when on “D” sometimes it drags and sometimes it does smoothly, what could be the problem to this?

I suspect 'gear box fibres are worn out'.
If you are in Abuja, I can recommend a gear box specialist for you.Specialized on Honda only!

Hmm... 'Drags' needs to be more clearly explained.

- Does it mean the car slips into neutral before finally switching to the next gear? (In that case, you hear a revving sound from the engine in-btw and car stalls )

- Does the car struggle to move or jerk when changing gears?

What ATF did you use?

Have you scanned the car?

(drags) I mean, it takes few seconds to select when on motion

It jerks when changing gears, especially when changing to reverse

The ATF I use ?? I’ve forgotten the name right now (white keg with a blue cover)

I scanned it once, it gave me a code where I need to check the ECU and oxygen sensor 2 or something like that (forgotten the codes)

Boss pls I have the situation where the car rev instead of switching to gear 2 , this only happens when trying to speed up , they said it's pin down issue, I don't know how to correct that , but normal drive without trying to speed up ...it switch but delay for some seconds

Your gear fibres are baaaaad.
Your explanation says it all.
Can you do this experiment?
Try driving your car like manual.
Start with D1, then D2, D3....Check the difference!!!

Your car battery might be weak. Swap in a newer battery and test performance.

Okay.

- Dirty shift solenoids could be responsible. Remove, clean and reinstall (take care not to damage. Quite fragile). Check if it resolves the issue.
If it doesn't, start saving for a new transmission (in case this fails). Honda transmissions are so delicate that they hardly function 100% normally after internal 'repairs'.

- The jerking when you shift to reverse could mean either torn/ bad engine mounts (commoner) OR imminent transmission failure. Rule out engine mounts first.

- That ATF you used might cause catastrophic damage to your transmission down the line. Description sounds like Abro or the likes. Honda genuine ATF is the way!! I advise you drain and refill at least 3 times to get as much of the Abro as possible out of the transmission. Use ATF DW1.

Sounds like slipping. Low or dirty transmission fluid can cause it. Check and do the needful, using ATF-DW1.

Cheers!
