I'm very much proud of my state and what it is becoming oo...
Atleast let's make a difference having China support for IVM in the East, American support for Nord Motion in the West and French support for PAN in the North!

later now, the vehicles cannot be affordable to an ordinary nigerian
Haba na?!

The automobile industry is not for poverty alleviation or NGO services. Cars are not human right necessities and if you can't afford one, you shouldn't have one!

This is why govts all over the world try to provide functional municipal transport system for the general population.

White elephant project! Hope I'm wrong..
Don't be fooled with innosons relative success in this field, this is a very risky venture that can only be managed effectively by well skilled private entrepreneurs. The constant changes in government and government policies will ultimately lead to the collapse of a venture like this as it will become a dumping ground for party rats as the guys in power start looking for jobs to keep the boys busy after elections. Even well established foreign car manufacturing companies struggle these days and are going for mergers.
Akwa Ibom government should rather reach joint venture agreements with some Asian conglomerates to site their companies in Akwa Ibom. Especially the House hold and agro related companies. That way they can invest in productive companies with well established managerial set ups, to produce for the Nigerian and west African markets..
You are a muumuu man..

Well said. To add, this is just an "assembly shade" (I can't call it an assembly plant)

WITH ALL THIS DEVELOPMENT ___THE AKWA IBOM GUYS STILL LEAVES THEIR STATE TO COME AND KEEP THEIR GIRLFRIEND in BROTHELS here in lagos JUST TO SLEEP WITH ANOTHER MAN TO BRING FOOD TO THEIR BOYFRIEND TABLE ____ AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS UNKNOWN BEHAVIOUR FROM AKWA IBOM AND CALABA PEOPLE
These industries can only sustain the middle class and educated, as the state IGR increases they will have the funds to support the poorer indigenes.

Today, I was on hand to receive the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Special Duties, Projects Monitoring/Implementation and Aviation Development on a tour around the Car Assembling/Manufacturing Plant located at Ikot Ukap Itam, Itu Local Government Area.

It is heartwarming to know that the committee was impressed with the level of work at the Plant which will create more employment opportunities for Akwa Ibom people. The collaboration between the Executive and Legislative arms of government in our state is one that aids development and must be commended.

The plant is being constructed by MIMSHAC/Merkavim Transportation Technologies and will produce commercial buses, waste disposal trucks, fire fighting trucks and private vehicles upon completion. It is a full package of Israeli technology which will produce stainless vehicles, suitable for Nigerian environmental terrain and roads. Our dear Governor, Mr. UDOM Emmanuel must indeed be commended for attracting economically viable projects to our state. With the project.

God bless Akwa Ibom State!
So, this is what State Assembly members came to inspect and it is worth celebrating.

I won't say a word, but let us all fear God so that what we want to eat will not eat us.

You guys are the one promoting corruption and killing our Naira over dollar for calling our locally manufactured vehicle substandard....

No wonder our national assembly rejected our own cars for Toyota Camry...funds that could have helped to boost per capital income was wasted & paid to another country.

Appreciate Nigeria and the economy will appreciate.

Go to India companies in Nigeria, you will be surprise that many of them are driving tata vehicle (India owned vehicle). Tata cars have just the basic functions and they are happy driving it. Innoson is not a low budget or cheap car, it is a work in progress, and it can only get better.

You want our National Assembly to use INNOSON MOTORS? They know better than you. INNOSON himself doesn't use his product, cause he knows they are moving Coffins. That's why he drives around in either Mercedes-Benz, Toyota or Northern made PEUGEOT Cars.

You don't build a business on lies. That business won't last long. Tell INNOSON to tell every Nigerian the truth. INNOSON MOTORS is built on LIES. He claimed that he manufacture those motors. Meanwhile, he is only assembling low budget CHINESE MADE CARS for GULLIBLE NIGERIANS grin

Really? You busted is fake love
Some of you are impossible.

The person you quoted said he once criticized Ibom Air and ANAMBRA AIRPORT as white elephant projects (which you admitted as true) but later swallowed his words and admitted he was wrong. Not only did he face Akwa Ibom but he also did Anambra and here you are, you have already said it is fake love.

What exactly is fake about what he said, even when he offered his opinion on what he thinks is best.

Rugaria:
You're right on that Ibom Air stuff. I did run my mouth on that one. Not only on that, I was against Anambra airport too. Thought governments should prioritize in times of low income. But looks like both the Airport at Anambra and Ibom Air are going to thrive... If so, I was wrong. .. I just think there are many other money spinning ventures the government can embark on to make money for itself and create jobs for the people. Not trying to rain on anybodys parade..
Congratulations to Akwa Ibom state on this milestone they are about to embark upon. Hopefully, the seaport will be completed to allow for exports within that region.

Scam
I really wonder how much their governor pays these media aides to report mediocre & scam projects on national news forums.
It hurts to see youths sacrifice their future over some <$200 stipends
They asslick their politicians so well... In Akwa Ibom there's no tangible employment opportunity just asslicking & youths praying to be made aide to some dumb politicians
BTW, I forgot to tell you, the religious & socio-political ideology among their youths promote fucking, mass production of babies & laziness
I'm not impressed

This is a sad perspective.

Do you reside there or you've stayed there before?

I pray it's not another white elephant project though. Hope the government will deliver on this one.
