LOL

Smart move, I bet you're about to finish paying the amount you both agreed on.

That's how some people do, when they know its about time for you to finish paying, if you have any issue with the car or bus, the person will just come and take it, instead of borrowing you money to fix the issue, he will take it, fix it and give to another person again.
Yes o, about to finish the payment... people are too wicked my bro

True story.

A guy came from nowhere, carrying a big bag in his arm claimed it was full of cash and went to sleep over at the police station 'for security reasons'. The next morning, he gifted the DPO in charge #20k cash and requested the DPO accompany him to buy the car with a promise of more gratification.

The misery guy made his choice, kept 'the money bag' in the DPO's custody and requested for a test drive. With the impression he had created with the DPO, the car seller granted his request and vooommm! the misery guy zoomed off.

Both the DPO and the car seller waited endlessly for the misery guy to return, till tomorrow, na so the guy carry car comot o.

The seller and DPO then decided to open the 'cash bag', but to discover that it's filled with rubbish! Na so the car dealer hold the misery guy's guarantor(DPO) o. The DPO was made to cough out the money. That period was not funny in Saki! Any little case with police, you would pay through your nose! Las las na crowd funding, through public exploitation the DPO take pay for the car o.

Any Saki resident present on this forum can corroborate my story. It's true, I kid you not!
grin
It's funny though! I believe normally test drive isn't supposed to be carried out by an individual.
Someone else is supposed to be with the driver so that both of them can pinpoint if at all there is any detected fault somewhere.

Easy way for money laundry and that's why some cars are sold cheap cuz they need money for flexing. Even some imported goods from Asia

You dull, you don't allow customer to drive when he hasn't paid 100%. You no supposed put the car particulars wether photocopy or original in the vehicle.
You have no business following customers to his destination, car business is very risky.
Most customers even tho they are known to you, and you failed to give them the documents, they will go prepare a new ones & forget about you, it happened to my friend years ago.

Don't ever trust (allow) anyone drive your car, just too risky.
Consider all customers to be thieves, even tho na clergy don't trust them.
This happened to me too,he didn't give me my balance till date,I dragged him to civil defence, paid radio station to talk about his crime in radio, they did and yet he didn't pay a dime from my balance since 2016. The car is a Honda EOD

February 2019..
I sold a car to a man who claims to work at a military establishment. He bought a car worth 1.4m from me and paid 1m. Asked me to follow him to his work place so as to get the balance but being busy, I designated my boy to follow him.
Few hours later, my boy called and was hysterical. The man asked him to come down to check what was bring out smoke from underneath at which there was none.
Immediately he alighted, the man zoomed off with his phone in the car.
He had to use a passerby's phone to call me.
I went to pick him up and we went to the place where he claimed to be working but there was no such person working there.
I was pained as there was nothing to be used to track him. He left with all the documents and receipts...
Ever had such experience, please share as there are lessons to be learnt from such.
You reminded me my case in Surulere in the year 2020 ( during corona virus break), I wanted to get a 04 white colour Corolla for someone, and I couldn't get one in my area here , so I call a friend of mine in Lagos to inspect one that I got via JIJI . I sent him the person's number and he called , they directed him to a car stand in Surulere Lagos, he went there with two other friends and bargained to 1.5m . They gave him the account number to pay after test driving the car/ inspection & confirmation of custom papers but couldn't pay it was already after banking hours, so he went there alone the next day and they told him to go to bank to pay. Before he returned from bank they have all left the car stand except one boy working for the owner of the car stand. So the guy called his boss and when he arrived he denied those guys that he had no link with them.
It took 3months to tracked and trailed them down , two arrested in Ondo/Akure ,one in Lagos & two in Abuja . They are syndicates of fraudster , two of them were exconvict and they confessed to have done similar thing to two different people in another car stand in Lagos after mine. In summary, Be careful of some of those road side car stands in Surulere and Festac town Lagos, Fraudsters/scammers work with few of them. I got my money back ! But I spent a lot and wasted time.
