KingOfAmebo: Ti a ba sọ wípé a ó ṣe oogun ìkà mo, alábùkú bíi ti ẹ lọ má a jẹ ki èèyàn padà ṣe.... Meaning, if I say I won't do bad juju anymore, it is idiots like you that will of your own volition ask me to bring it out and test it on you. I did not abuse anybody, nor did I use any ad hominem in my writeup, what evil spirit will hate you to the point of provoking you to write something in the form of empty skull to me? Your pápá the unfortunate fool that birthed an awful fool like you dare not say this to my face.... Na your mama I pity sha... God bless her, she really dey try for you.. If not, you would have become a victim of your own stupidity years ago.... For her sake, I no go curse your pápá further. To the point in question, you are only regurgitating the presser the media is releasing regarding the Panama papers.... I would have said you lack the capacity to form original thoughts, but that will be similar to marginalising a naturally handicapped person... It is not your fault you no get sense... Na your family gene fault... Sorry my dear. For the sake of sane people that are reading this, I apologise for my language.. It is not the best and I could have done better, but sometimes you have to show pigs that you are willing to roll in the mud with them if need be. My further writings will be for the sake of your information.. Not because of the donkey I am replying. It is NOT a crime to own shell Companies. If it were a crime, jurisdictions around the world will not have allowed it. In fact, in international business and Corporate business operations, owing shell companies is a way to properly structure your business governance processes and procedures to minimise Tax exposure, maximise Asset protection, and carry out Estate planning properly. As with everything that is intended for good, it can also be used for criminal purposes. Criminals like Abacha used it to launder money. Pablo escobar used it to move funds to Swiss banks, etc etc. But the good outweighs the bad, as far as International business is concerned. If you notice, you will see that Apple Inc, and American company, is actually officially Headquartered in Ireland...... Principally to avoid paying US taxes on income. All the Top 1000 fortune listed companies all have several levels of shell structures in place. Every popular company you know, including MTN, Shell, Globalcom etc all have shell companies.... Principally for the reasons I stated above. If you are an international business man, say you are a Cocoa exporter, you can incorporate shell companies to minimise taxes, to warehouse funds, to keep your funds offshore etc... All of this is not illegal. So, the fact that you have secret companies, that you use to manage your affairs to your legal advantage, does not make you a Criminal.... Every single great person/entity you know alive has shell companies.... Including the Catholic Church, the Sauds, etc... Having shell companies for corporate structuring is the go to Tax planning and management for well exposed technocratic Business men. The Jurisdictions that make this easy to do are not Fools, the Irish are not, the British Financial system is not managed by hysterical fools that do not know how to form practical policies that promote their Country... If Nigerian governments were savvy, they will enact policies that will turn Nigeria into a Tax haven, have secrecy laws for Incorporation and banking, have an independent Court system that follows the rule of law, then sit back and watch the billions pour in.... But no, our government is not smart, we prefer to àpe the west, doing things that have no benefits for us while the West (Switzerland, London, New York, Singapore) reap all the benefits. To really learn more about this, seek for informed from Corporate lawyers, investment advisors, Tax planners and People who understand corporate finance. Peter Obi, i repeat, does not need to deny anything, because having shell companies is not a crime by itself. He has broken no single law. Sane people will expect the Government and its agents to question Obi on this instead of prematurely destroying his image for the sake of politics.... |

barcaboi:Brother the APC we know will drop every evidence if there is any. This particular case is a witch hunt, oga peter Obi said its a co-owned company. The problem here is that he didn't steal oo, did you take your time to even read about this issue, the issue here is that he didn't declear the business as his before running a public office, he still insisted he didn't cause its a co-owned business. So what exactly did he steal? They have been looking for what to nail him with, Mr Peter Obi we the Anambrarians know isn't a thief, all through his stay as the governor of Anambra state he didnt owe civil servants, our schools in Anambra got world class lift, he created new roads in our rural area, through out his stay as a governor no governor of Anambra state saved the much he said, our reserve got huge, the orient petroleum in Anambra state he initiated it, a whole lot of things I would go on and on to say here. He is a very humble man, when he was governor one time when victor Umeh's mother dies he came to my husband's village in Aguluzoigbo and stayed 3days with just 2 escort and a P.A I am a withness. He helped arrange chair for the burial, he will seat with everyone you won't even know he is the governor. Leave matter for Mathias, he was a very successful business man before being the governor I guess thats why he stole little or nothing from Anambra people. Oga just be coming out. APC have been looking for what to nail him with, oga didn't steal, did he? They said he didn't declear his assets? E better pass bullion van thief. All of you should get out abeg 1 Like |

RuudVanNistroy:those of us that know little about Peter Obi will assure you, Premium Times that you're least on the log of things bothering him. The reason is: you raised issues without point of order. All the clauses you quoted were punctured by you. Example, how can you say he saddled his company 18 months after becoming a governor and at the same time affirming he sent a letter to before but the change was not effected after 18 months? The letter is the main thing. Whether he back dated or not but since the UK authorities agreed they received the letter earlier, it's not his fault. Operating a foreign account: Peter wasn't sworn in like any other governor. He was sworn in by order of mandamus. For 2 years + he was in court. Was he aware he will win in court? It's neither here nor there. He closed these accounts as soon as he became governor. You even quoted these records. So how will you give us answer to these research and go about asking Peter the answer. That's why he said "I didn't break any law". Because he's replying you. Aside this: You're becoming venomous on this issue as if you're the Pandora paper. The tone you use in addressing this issue is unprofessional to say the least. 1 Like |

Ausval:''Did he established those companies during when he was a governor?'' Yes, the Pandora paper has answered this your question. Go back and read the reports again freeing your mind from being a supporter of a 'corrupt thief' ''We need a president that has vast knowledge in investment and economic management and Mr Peter Obi fit into those shoes remarkably'' Some one who outrightly declared that investments in infrastructures development is a waste of resources and would not have any impact on the country development can not be the person we need as president. |
