The issues involved in the Pandora saga are beyond your level of comprehension.

There is a reason why it is a big deal to warrant an expose'. Tax haven exists for a purpose and those who patronize them
know why they do. What you are trying to do is akin to justifying reasons for sleeping with a prostitute.

There is a reason why none of those accounts was opened as belonging to Winners Chapel International, Faith Terbanacle. Oyedepo is a glorified executive criminal grin grin grin Criminals are blessed too. Afterall he cannot match the financial prowess and philanthropy of Pablo Escobar. But they are both criminals in different industries nonetheless. Escobar was a drug baron while Oyedepo is a pulpit bandit.

simple..guy thinks running a tax Haven account is cool, tax Haven accounts are most associated with illegal funds, corrupt politicians, theives and now corrupt/fake clergy men

I havent read anything abt d pandora document.Bt one thing is sure, living faith is a business.Take this frm someone that has been attending d church right from iyana Ipaja Raji Oba street.I was born into living faith so i was a member for many yrs. That church can do collect money frm members without giving anything in return.Oyededo preaches too mch on tithes n Kingdom investments bt doesnt talk abt how d church will help members. My father was a deacon in that church for so many yrs ,gave so mch to that church instead of investing in his future. At the end faith academy was established n my father who was an average incomer holder still couldnt afford to put any of his kids in that schl even after spending hundreds of thousand as of year 1999 in giving for that project.
To conclude, that church is a well run business, that doesn't giv back as it should except audio giving. The founder seems only interested in making money for his lineage.U support a govt tax n cash book audit of religions houses.

My question was directed at the earlier poster that referred to Pandora as if it was a country or location.

I'm back from Church, and I find myself laughing as people on nairaland are claiming that I am a PR person for Bishop Oyedepo and expect I would soon be back with a rebuttal. I wasn't intending any rebuttal before, as I am not a PR person for the living faith church. But I would do this in defense of the gospel because a non credible attack against one of Nigeria's most credible churches is unacceptable.

I think many of us generally get carried away with headlines and forget the substance of an article before rushing to comment.

I have gone through the entire article and I haven't seen anything indicting of the Oyedepo family. But I would address four observations from the article itself and from the surrounding comments.

Why Should Oyedepo Or Living Faith Avoid Taxes By Setting Up Offshore Accounts Giving The Bible Verse "Give Unto Ceasar What Is Unto Ceasar"?

1) For all the businesses the living faith church operates in Nigeria pays taxes to the Nigerian government. This includes the publishing business, and the other taxable constituent businesses around the universities which includes the microfinance banks, water and beverage factories, farms etc.

2) There are over 200 nations on earth eligible to receive taxes. So British Islands is also 'ceasar'. Every nation has the responsibility to make themselves tax attractive to welcome foreign investment and Oyedepo and his family are just as eligible as anyone else to search for better priced tax opportunities for their personal or ministry benefit.

Is Living Faith Investment Carriage A Secret?

Inside the Mantle book and under the finance section of the living faith church details to great extent the administrative procedure for the church, it is well cited that the living faith church can maintain asset management to protect the church's income. Or did you expect the church to warehouse millions of dollars with banks who would live large on the proceeds and expose the hard earned income of worshippers to inflation even before the church uses it?

Are Oyedepo's Universities The Most Expensive In Nigeria As Claimed By The Article?

We all know this to be untrue. The Living Faith university system runs one of the most pocket friendly private universities in Nigeria when comapred to secular varsities of equal standing. There's nothing unusual about the price of Living faith schools.

I suspect that the addition of this claim was just to make Oyedepo look further bad and horrible.

Does Living Faith Maintain Four Jets?

This is another claim that has been debunked several times by Leke Beecroft of Church gist and many others who cared to explain.
The living faith church has used four to five planes in the past to convey its church leadership. It regularly sells her older planes to buy new ones. Currently, the church uses more of its helicopter to shuffle the church leadership and that of the RCCG around the country. While deemphasizing on the use of the private jet.

However, the article presented it as though the living faith church maintains an active fleet of four jets on standby in a futile attempt to further make the church appear greedy and evil.
Yes, @highered the spiritual son to Oyedepo has issued a rebbutal... Lol.. Spiritual son whose name isn't on the list of directors in any of the family companies listed in the pandora papers...
Oyedepo evades tax by hiding contributors monies in tax havens in shady companies belonging to just him and his immediate family.
The church has jets used to convey only church leadership and not church members of living faith who contributed thier monies... Lol

Covenant University and faith academy belongs to Oyedepo and family.. Your name is nowhere to be found..
Your brainwashing is on steroids and

In conclusion, you are a spiritual bastard.

I never said "having a politician as it's member", I meant a church that politicians run to during election periods and other important political times, because they know the influence of the church on the people.

Pandora Papers: Investigation Reveals How Bishop Oyedepo Set Up Company For Wife, Children In Tax Haven | Sahara Reporters

Mee:

Nigerian Pastors are the richest in the world. Their voluminous private Jets is a world record. Having a single private Jet is a sign of poverty for a Nigerian Pastor.

When Karl Marx declared that "religion is an opiate of the masses" he was partly right. I find it difficult to comprehend the rationale of collecting money from poor and hungry people and to use those money to buy private Jet for the comfort of a single man.

There are dollar billionaires in the West and China that do not have private Jets. Unfortunately, Our Pastors here in Nigeria compete in the purchase of expensive Private Jets.

I am not criticizing Christianity please, I am criticizing an unjust norm that is cruel and unjust to the poor and downtrodden. If Muslim clerics does this I will criticize them.

Please share this post with your Nigerian Christian Friends and Associates! Thank you!

There is no substance to the story. What I believe is that somebody is catching out on the wave to get at my Bishop

The article stayed that he set up the secret system but couldn't tell the kind of business it was used or to be used for.

The whole attempt is to get his name there....

As for the aircraft nonsense ,I have had cause to ask somebody if in his wisdom it was possible for anybody in Nigeria not running an airline business to maintain four aircraft.

Cross river state government that claimed to have set up an airline business doesn't have four jets

Nothing about aircraft is sold in naira and it is not designed to stay in the ground..the more it stays the more it incurs cost so why would any sensible person maintain 4

Thank you.

I stopped reading the moment I saw “British virgin island is a Caesar”

FYI British Virgin Islands is a TAX HAVEN!

Explain how a CHURCH will set up a SHELL company in a TAX HAVEN where MOBSTERS, DICTATORS , THE C-RONALDOS MOURINHOS MESSI’s go to HIDE THEIR WEALTH AND AVOID PAYING TAX

Hope when FG goes after them the way the Spanish government went after Cronaldo/Messi/Mourinho/alonso etc y’all won’t complain sha

Tax evasion is a serious crime

Tax havens are not a crime, though they can be exploited for criminal purposes. Don't be silly. Google, Microsoft etc all patronize tax havens of different sorts.

The company in question is to carry the investment of Oyedepo and his family. He has the right to incorporate anywhere he desires.

The question is, should someone who claims to be preaching the teachings of Jesus Christ be so obscenely rich?

These men are conmen.

Why is he keeping so much money locked up in the bank when most of his church members are living in penury?

Is that even Christ-like?

If Jesus walked the earth today, would he have tax haven like his acclaimed followers?

The government should start taxing churches.…I will keep on saying it
Religion is our problem in this Country
Let the government start taxing churches maybe majority of this 4-5 churches in a street won't close down!

As for the pandora box
Who won't like to open a business in a place where there's less tax?

Why did you think everyone is opening church in Nigeria?

The only problem there is politicians stealing our common wealth to establish companies overseas
