Maybe because most of the exported Israeli drones are the unarmed types

Almost all israeli male/hale drones can be retrofitted for armed roles

As for the kamikaze drones they are considered armed

That list IMO was made for few specific countries only

Lots of talk coming from my sources on a potential Turkish drone sale to Nigeria. To be negotiated during Erdoğan's upcoming visit

I still have my reservations on Turkish military equipment, however if confirmed on the 20th, it would be good news for the air force.

The fact that the Turkish President appears to be / wants to visit Nigeria is a very big deal for both Countries. I have my reservations about Uncle Erdo however if Nigeria can get Turkish drones and Turkish investment in Nigeria , please count me in , if they can throw a couple of upgraded Otokar Cobra APCs , as a the sweetener . The more the merrier .

Ideally, I would have preferred 3 x Ada class corvettes though.

Although I know the UCAVs are a more practical option.

Erdogan is a drama king and would be Islamic champion. His country's economy is however in good shape and might be useful to us.

New order for an OCEA survey vessel for Nigeria

12th october 2021

After the delivery in 8 years of 18 ships to the Nigerian Navy, including the NNS LANA, a 60-meter hydrographic research vessel type OSV 190 SC-WB, two 35-meter patrol boats type FPB 110 MKII and two interceptors of 17 m type C-FALCON in 2020, OCEA won an international tender for the supply of a 35-meter hydrographic research vessel type OCEA OSV 115 SC-WB.

Vessel’s missions

OCEA’s OSV 115 SC-WB type vessel is a hydrographic and oceanographic research vessel from the auxiliary vessels range. Intervening in support of the OSV 190 NNS LANA, it will allow the Nigerian Navy to complete the knowledge of its maritime territory.

This company gets to do lots of work with The Navy. Can't they start building or completing some of the ships in Nigeria if raw materials permit?

This guy could be a relative on Mum's side! The name and bone structure is common in Kinoo, some 20 km west of Nairobi-I'll check. Anyway his story involves typical SOPs (Standard OPerating Procedure) of warfighting, iow the universal TTPs, Tactics,Techniques and Protocols of armies worldwide.

Though the attack cost him both legs and interrupted what would have been an illustrious career in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Major Alex Hinga says nothing can stop him from serving his country.

He was leading a platoon of 39 soldiers during a routine patrol on the supply route between Kolbio and Badaade, 40 kilometres from the two countries’ border when his armoured personnel carrier (APC) hit by an explosive.

Another battle where a pal lost his bro Lt Webi.

On January 22, 2012, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were sent to liberate Hoosingo, a town in south Somalia. The force was expected to link up with Somalia’s Transitional Federation Forces (TFG) for the task.
At 2200 hours, the officer commanding the team radioed that his men had run into an Al-Shabaab ambush. A two-hour battle ensued.
https://hiiraan.com/news4/2012/Oct/26474/the_battle_for_hoosingo.aspx

Ishyt nearly went wayyyyyy South!

After the first two hours, Major Father Makau told Lt Col Nyaga that the ammunition was running out.

“I called my second in command and told him to deploy anyone, including the cooks, for reinforcement and to move supplies from Dobley (sector headquarters) to Hoosingo,” Lt Col Nyaga recalled during KDF day celebrations last week. Lt Col Nyaga also turned to his friend and former training colleague at the Kenya Military Academy, Lt Col Omenda for aerial support.

Lt Col Omenda, the pilot of a helicopter gunship, made a brave decision that would have cost him his job if anything had gone wrong.

Although the gunship was required to have at least one fighter helicopter for support and protection, Lt Col Omenda decided to fly in alone. With about 100 men staring death in the face, there was no time to think about job security.

Again, leadership and quick CAS, in this case a lone Z 9W,the Z 9 gunship version saved the day.

In what is now known as the battle for Hoosingo, about 100 KDF men fought an estimated 500 to 800 Al-Shabaab fighters. “We shot, shot,
and shot until we got tired. The more we wounded, the more reinforcements they brought in,” remembers Major Father Makau.

The battle lasted six hours and 20 minutes and almost 400 Al-Shabaab fighters were buried in the next days.

“The stench of death was overwhelming,” said a private.

And not all of the lessons learned have been applied.
For example, one of the recommendations was never deploy when you can't easily extract or reinforce your forces.
Dont see that happening in either DRC or Moz.

I've only seen the 3 Oryx in Moz footage. There are rumours 2 Rooivalke are there, but nothing confirmed.
On the Moz military side, Paramount has loaned them a Mwari, and delivered more Hinds, armed MI-8 and some ex-UK Army Gazelles.

Btw, the Somali op is actually the KDF's second dance. The first was with the same Anorexics just after Uhuru. They decided to join Somalia as their N E province wherein they were at least 90% bordered Som. Kenyatta said,"feel free to leave!"
In their typically schizo way they somehow assumed they'd automatically join their cross border kin who sent arms and regular Somali army formations to fight the secessionist battle that was known as the Shifta war.
The KAF was tiny was only 6 Strikemasters some Beverly transports , no arty but for a couple of Brit WW2 4.5s a battery of 120 mms and no army aviation while 90% + of the inhabitants supported secession. It was a brutal small unit war of no prisoners (notice how Maj Hinga kept a round to avoid capture) and FINALLY after 3 or so years of failure PM Shermake signed a peace deal in N Tz.
That's why I laughed when "experts " predicted bloody failure when the KDF invaded Somalia in 2011 and doubted Kismayu would even fall. Apart from the criminally careless coy commander at El Adde in Jan 2016 who got himself and 130 guys KIA the Somali operation went swimmingly.
I tell you the West was shocked! Particularly given their own operational history in the area and Uganda's and Ethiopia's torturous experiences. The latter invaded Mog with sound and fury in early 06 and just as quickly retraced their steps AFTER provoking a combined backlash of the nascent Al Shabaab and joint newly formed anti Ethiopian militias.
Uganda landed same time and was BASICALLY pinned down in a 2 or 3 block area for 4 yrs. They only managed to recce in force out of their AO in mid 2011 with a whole battalion ! Imo, they're now taking a closer look at us. The ocean boundary dispute 50% awarded to Som by the ICJ is a warning by the TPTB . Lamu, where 60 died one June night 2014 is the lynchpin of the Africa leg of China's Global Belt and Road. It's a stone's throw from the border and must be protected- IN DEPTH! This, not tourist safety or a brass bored by peace is the real reason the KDF is in Som.
It'll be a transcontinental road/rail link with Douala in Cameroon. As you can imagine the geopolitical stakes are ENORMOUS for Kenya, countries along the route like the CAR who can escape Jean-Fraude's usury and neglect, Chadians or N Sudanese who may want a spur, reduced shipping times and traffic for the Suez....let me stop.
That's another post of itself!

Saw the ICJ decision and the reaction from Mr Bucks (that's what they called Kenyatta fils at boarding school, according to a Kenyan friend and colleague who was at the same school).
This and Ethiopia hooking up with the UAE, and other happenings and suddenly East Africa and the Horn hasn't been this interesting since Bismarck and Garibaldi decided they wanted in on the colonies game.

The Lilliputians will scramble of course to google those 2 characters; their claims to Brobdingnagian status notwithstanding, ignorance betrays them.

He's called other things, trust me though the family are dollar billionaires! I laughed at that Pandora Papers B.S. exposing their 30 mn $ holding company. They're dad got at least 0.5 mn acres of prime land across Kenya. The Kenyattas own Africa's largest dairy, Brookside, 50% of our 3rd largest bank National Credit Bank Africa, much real estate and hotels.
Look at their biggest ongoing 5 bn $ real estate development:

Dubbed Northlands City, the development that is estimated to cost Sh500 billion, will occupy an 11,576-parcel of land in Ruiru – about 15km from the Nairobi city centre.

The land, which is traversed by the Eastern Bypass, is owned by the Kenyatta Family and is currently occupied by its dairy processor Brookside, and Gicheha Farm – the family’s livestock rearing business.
[url][https://www.constructionkenya.com/8326/northlands-city-kenya/url]

For your own sake when they discover what a Lilliputian is I hope you've a level 4 flak vest, Hazmat suit and high speed hoverboard !

Edit: their majority owners of the newly opened small arms factory featured here. Fyi, it sits on their land and they'll have an iron clad monopoly supplying cops and the KDF at least 10 mn $ worth of sales annually.
I'm mildly chuffed as I had and STILL have a VERY similar idea but let me not say too MUCH.
Haters are MANY here in case you haven't noticed!
