Since it's a free market, those that have bills should go and risk their last savings and start their own business and enslave employ people too.

It doesn't work that way

You are right. I am also for the most qualified to be employed because it is all about performance. But in a situation where there are like 10 qualified with 5 slots and 4 are married men, preference should be given to them. Believe me giving them the job will be bringing smiles to not just 4 people but 4 families.

So preference should be given to them because they are married not because they are qualified for the job.

So it is only married men that have responsibilities in our society?

How about orphans, those single ones that are the bread winners of the family?

How about those with disabilities, that will never get a job even if they are qualified, you mean they don't have responsibilities too?

This is my special appeal to those who are employers of labour, and human resource officers in charge of recruiting staff in companies.
Please give more employment priority to men of 28 years and older especially the married men.

After that, you can now give preference to single mothers, married females, the younger men and women.

I am saying this because as we speak, families are breaking up. Many men that are dependent on salary income have lost their roles in families.

They cannot foot the bills of providing food, paying rent, fees, etc and their families are being shattered.
I got a call last night from a relative who has been unemployed since the covid19 but his lucky wife whose job was not affected is presently keeping late nights, starving him of sex and he cannot say nada because she is the one taking care of 80% of the bills.

Or is it my senior in secondary school presently in his 40s whose wife left him with their 2 daughters and is flirting with big boys in Abuja who gave her apartment and takes care of her bills?

Mind you, these men are not lazy. If given work, they are ready to put in 120% of time to feed their families but the employment system is frustrating them. They cannot keep submitting CVs to companies giving more priorities to women and the younger folk.

Save a family today.
I rather marry a woman who will support me in providing for the family without letting the world know or I remain single forever. young men should mind the kind of women they follow. OP men to mind the kinds of women they marry, I think that will bring a better solution to this menace.

There are tons of things you could do and earn a decent living online bro.

They include;

The opportunities are innumerable bro, but these are just the few I listed here for you to start up.

I'll advise you start with the first, but that's if you love to write like I do. I earn at least 90k/monthly creating content on scooper and opera just with my phone.

On the other hand, you can also be an entrepreneur, stop depending on white collar jobs...
It's not always easy to switch from a salaried job to entrepreneurship especially for married men as the OP sighted. People tend to do well as entrepreneurs when they started out as entreprenuers from the outset and not because of lack of job or because they hav been laid off. Entreprenuership is all about passion.

Honestly, I'm beginning to agree with the Taliban that women should not be employed nor occupy leadership positions! Those guys really understand women better! They're better of at home and in the kitchen.

These days, more females get employed in the Nigerian labor market than their male counterparts, yet the unemployed or poorly employed males are left to shoulder the financial burdens of the family. Tell me why there won't be increase in crime rate as those men are left with no choice than engage in illegal activities to make money.

Oga, dress well, go all the small offices wey de your area.

Tell them your are into office supplies like pen air freshener, toiletries, invoices and manual labor provider
Ask them what they usually want.

Take their order.

Tell them you a start up, you collect full payment on delivery.

NB: don't go beggarly, don't go looking for sympathy. Go professional and humbly.

As long as you are not begging or beggar naturally you would do just fine.

If they make their other and prefer time of delivery .

Go to a local supermarket, drop your phone as collateral pick everything they order and deliver

This is a wonderful idea.
Please create a forum to lecture more youths to start up something. I’m not in this category it lot’s of people can really benefit from this

The poster of this topic took thoughts out of my mind. So many men are unemployed and these men are at the mercy of their employed women who because of the predicament of their husband talk to them without respect. Many men have lost their family because the women will because of the inability of their husband to provide turn their children away from their father making the men seem lazy and irresponsible. I am using this avenue to seek help from well meaning Nairalanders who have what it takes to employ PLEASE I NEED A JOB bady. My family is in serious problem because of my unemployed condition. I am an MSc holder and a LABORATORY SCIENTIST. I still don't mind any other job as long as it will keep me productive and earning. Thanks to that kind hearted fellow.

What you need is a business and not a job (Just Over Broke). Employment is slavery unless you are a manager and above.

I would introduce you to a business that would make you financially free in 1 year if you follow my plan and tap in to the support system availability in the International business I am working with . If you put in the time , I assure you, you would be in control of your time and you won't lack funds.

You can reach me on WhatsApp if interested for details

Easier said than done.....
So you think employers recruit workers without reason except to come and fill up vacancies?

Have you thought of why beautiful ladies and handsome dudes are often used as front desk staff?

Can you keep a married man as a front desk staff in your own company simply because he's married and needs to keep his marriage?

Truth is; competent HR department knows what customers are attracted with and would always go for such ahead of anything else because they need to keep their job by proving to know what their employers want. Business is for business and not on charity sentiments.

Take it easy junkie. Read my post well. I did not say employment should be based totally on sentiments. It should be on qualification but preference should be given to those that needs it most.
Single mothers are important too. But a married man carries more weight than single mothers because he has the responsibility of a wife, children, extended families, etc. I don't know how you grew up but imagine a family father is unemployed sitting at home, gets insulted and your school fees is a problem. This is many families reality at the moment.
Oh please!!!
Do you think single mothers do not need the job as much as married men do??
Single mothers also have children to take care of,and you don't know whether the family might be dependent on that single young lady.
Pls let's stop sentiments, everybody needs a good source of income.
The reason why this topic is even coming up is simply because of the unhealthy ego of many married men.

If you are so interested in the Taliban system....get an Afghanistan visa and book the first flight going to Afghan ASAP!!!!!
We don't need more backward thinking people in Nigeria....we already have a good number of them here.

I don't blame the OP posting this shit, I blame the senseless mod who pushed this to FP.
@OP if you know of someone who's lost his place in his family cos he's having marital issues with em wife
A quick question
Was it compulsory to raise a family?
Do younger guys have to pay for the sudden turn of misfortunes they're having??

In short the OP & the MF mod who pushed this to FP should just gettout angry

You don't have to agree with everyone's sentiments, but learn to be tolerant of their opinions.
