kingthreat:So, single mothers who also need to feed their children, and those who belong to other kinds of families , all of them with bills to pay are of less importance in this your equation? You want companies to turn the economy upside down so a few married men can keep their marriages? May you never become a politician in anywhere Nigeria or the current level of foolishness will only continue to rise in the country as a whole 6 Likes 1 Share |

kingthreat: Life doesn't work that way. So single people who are more qualified for the job should be tossed aside because a married man is applying for the same role? Is this a farce or something? 8 Likes 1 Share |

There's trouble in paradise but TBH there are jobs everywhere ooo That is if you're qualified. They are jobs for both the neophytes and the experienced. Seriously I don't know why people keep on clamouring that there's no job.. I don't want to go too deep, but those men should dig deeper, they should go online that's where the jobs are. So many companies springing up here and there. 1 Like 1 Share |

In this same hard économy, there are people rejecting job offers and changing jobs for higher paying ones. This is simply because they have skills that are in high demand. Those jobs are never advertised. It's the people in that field or line of jobs that recommend themselves. Sometimes employers pick-up their profiles from LinkedIn and just call them for interviews. This applies mostly to IT, cybersecurity and IT audit jobs. If you can, find your way into that field. It's lucrative 4 Likes |

IykeChukz: What sense HR's should make it compulsory to employ married people with families to help em save their marriages and remain relevant in their families even at the expense of other more qualified younger peeps just cos the latter ain't married I am not surprised that this makes sense to u Later when those young unemployed resort to looting & armed robbery The married men whose families had to be saved will come online cursing Your idea right?? 4 Likes 1 Share |

The poster of this topic took thoughts out of my mind. So many men are unemployed and these men are at the mercy of their employed women who because of the predicament of their husband talk to them without respect. Many men have lost their family because the women will because of the inability of their husband to provide turn their children away from their father making the men seem lazy and irresponsible. I am using this avenue to seek help from well meaning Nairalanders who have what it takes to employ PLEASE I NEED A JOB bady. My family is in serious problem because of my unemployed condition. I am an MSc holder and a LABORATORY SCIENTIST. I still don't mind any other job as long as it will keep me productive and earning. Thanks to that kind hearted fellow. 3 Likes |

When my Dad was retrenched from his job at NITEL, he had to stoop low to menial jobs like Soap making (Local), and riding Kabu Kabu with his Mazda 626 of those years, while my mom taught... Until God blessed them with a school, and 3 plots of land in costly places in Lagos, and sending their children as far as IUO.... My Dad brother, when he left his bank job, tried acting, went into marketing, cleaning, until God blessed him with the best security outfit in the country and eben beyond... What am I saying?? Start low again, sometimes you need to hit bottom to recover yourself... You must not get a job to live, there are blue collar jobs everywhere, especially in Lagos... ATTITUDE is everything 1 Like 3 Shares |

Manny people have been saying long time ago about the wrong interpretation of women libration that is not fundamentally relevant to our our social dynamics. A man gets a job he is useful to a woman girlfriend or wife either ways..plus extented families.. a woman gets a job she is more consciouse of improving her look to get a higher paying man. They mate up the pyramid. Men will mate downwards. We're it spread or flat. If women have to they will save themselves and leave you to sought yourself out. It's not hate it's just that women by definition are not hardwired to bear burdens. that the truth. That's also why they have not led men ever..they hate burdens. 5 Likes 1 Share |

PrimadonnaO: You are right. I am also for the most qualified to be employed because it is all about performance. But in a situation where there are like 10 qualified with 5 slots and 4 are married men, preference should be given to them. Believe me giving them the job will be bringing smiles to not just 4 people but 4 families. 4 Likes |

Kobojunkie: Take it easy junkie. Read my post well. I did not say employment should be based totally on sentiments. It should be on qualification but preference should be given to those that needs it most. Single mothers are important too. But a married man carries more weight than single mothers because he has the responsibility of a wife, children, extended families, etc. I don't know how you grew up but imagine a family father is unemployed sitting at home, gets insulted and your school fees is a problem. This is many families reality at the moment. 3 Likes |

KingGBsky: Oga, dress well, go all the small offices wey de your area. Tell them your are into office supplies like pen air freshener, toiletries, invoices and manual labor provider Ask them what they usually want. Take their order. Tell them you a start up, you collect full payment on delivery. NB: don't go beggarly, don't go looking for sympathy. Go professional and humbly. As long as you are not begging or beggar naturally you would do just fine. If they make their other and prefer time of delivery . Go to a local supermarket, drop your phone as collateral pick everything they order and deliver |

kingthreat:You are still repeating the same foolishness, this after telling me your argument is not based on sentiments, why? You want us to believe that a married home where 2 fully capable adults can share equally the work of bringing in the bread, is of more importance, in your perspective, than a one where the responsibility falls squarely on just the one? 1 Like 1 Share |

I told my wife some days back that my style and approach to family and my personal welfare has change. I need to take care of myself too, no more spending every penny I earn for the family and almost forgetting my upkeep. And whenever she has money she keep it for herself. Men shine your eyes o. when those kids grow up, they will almost forget their Dad, not all kids though 10 Likes |
