Tochiology: Igbo people live in every part of Nigeria than any other tribe. So i am not suprised that air traffic is increasing in the southeast, also consider the security situation on ground in the south east, most travelers will prefer to use air for safety than land |

All the airports in top six are actually international airports. So I don't understand why some people are celebrating like they won a world cup. There's only one international airport in Southwestern Nigeria and we are not complaining about marginalization. 2 Likes |

horsepower102: Northerners are poor. It’s only their middle class that travel by air. They hardly leave their territory, if not because of insurgency that made them run down south. They are contented with the little they have. They don’t really look for wealth the way we people do down here. Apologies if you feel hit by my first statement. I don’t mudslide. There is no crime in saying the truth. Traveling majorly by air at this time in Owerri means Owerri people are rational. Don’t see my comment as if I am saying Owerri has never been safe. Let everything calm down in Owerri then go back and check NBS’s data for Q3 or Q4 in 2022. Then compare it with those of 2021. |

Nathan2016:is there another international airport in Southwest outside Lagos? So if a Yoruba person was coming from outside Nigeria, he has no other choice than to land in Lagos before proceeding to his or her state. Kano, Abuja and Enugu are international airports And imo airport served as diversion while Enugu was being repaired.. Hence, the high numbers of those airports 3 Likes |

I stated the practical reason for the surge in air traffic in Imo which is a fact. The marginalisation of the Igbo nation is incontrovertible and did not start today. Neither will it end today. |
