They opened offices around to deceive investors or investors chose to deceive themselves because they saw offices around.

I remember trying to raise funds for a particular enterprise and one of the persons I met was more concerned with why I don't have an office. I told him an office is not necessary since the business is not based on receiving visitors (imagine a farm or a produce trader having a walk in office in the city) and he said he can't invest because not having an office shows I am not doing well with the business. Imagine.

That's how they got scammed by MBA Forex. A Forex trading company will not have branches all over the federation solely dedicated to raising funds and registering people for investment. That should have been a red flag. Sadly, the stupid punters (that's what they are, not investors) saw the many offices as a sign of genuineness rather than as the red flag that it was supposed to be.

The problem is the punters here who do not appreciate the fact that returns are variable. Returns can never be fixed, so anyone promising a monthly return is most likely lying or desperate. Is it possible to make 100% yearly returns in a business? Yes, but it is not going to come smoothly, same amount, month by month and also, after a while, the business would not need outside capital (if it is actually making such returns).

Anyway, don’t these investment companies register for licenses? Don’t they have regulators? Shouldn’t they be properly insured before they begin operations on this level? How can they be allowed to have personal access to people’s funds? Weren’t they audited?

One of the things I love about bulk money in business is that it makes it easy for you to do your business and make your reasonable profit without being frustrated to the point of cutting corners. The fact that a lot of people “invested” with them should help them create even more wealth to meet up with demands. Also they should take a break and pause new investment if they cannot scale up as fast as required.

But it appears they always planned to run away with people’s money. An rare opportunity to become a thriving finance house was sacrificed on the altar of GREED.

What kind of business can you do that you will be able to pay monthly returns? And 10% for that matter. If you raise 10 billion, that would mean 1 billion naira in monthly returns. No business can achieve that at that scale so it is easier for the promoter to simply pay people with the funds of new punters.

Most businesses increase profits by using their retained earnings until they are stable. Even after reaching maturity, they only pay dividends once a year or at the highest, once a quarter.

They don't promise huge or monthly returns and their customers aren't greedy...but there are cases of failed hedge funds in the US like Bennie madoff's hedge fund which was a $60billion Ponzi scheme.

Why doesn't the OP also include pictures of Bamise with his Zenith bank boss, his social club acquaintances, and other high network individuals in his network which he must have took pictures with? Sometime ago, I was in a group of entrepreneurs, and one person came up with a discussion on outgrowers scheme....Honestly that was the last day I joined in their meeting..Because to me collecting money from people to give imaginary ROI within a short term is a big time bomb waiting to explode.

Anyways, the guy that brought up the discussion, started the stuff...But it didn't see 6months before everything crashed.
