The flogging likely happened when his eyes were clear. African solutions to problems always include pain of sorts. I don’t think whipping him would do anything unless the drug was taken out of youthful exuberance. The white man would find the factor(s) in his life making him turn to drugs then eliminate or ameliorate it/them. |
