Tell me why this school won't groom cultists since there is no one and activities to get the students busy. Useless and heartless people is what we have in govt in Nigeria

Yesterday was the first time I would be seeing my former secondary school in over two years since I relocated from my former area.
To say I was shocked with what is left of the school is an understatement, it was an eyesore.
No teachers, no chairs, I almost shed tears.
Bushes has almost taken over the school, major part of the roof has been ruined, all the buildings are dilapidated.
Students sits on bare floor to learn, and it's a shame I learnt there are no teachers in the school that parents now employ and pay teachers through community efforts.
What is edo state govt doing? We didn't vote you guys to destroy our system.
I think you should know better, that Command Schools are a private/public schools established by the Army to, originally cater for the needs of its staff's children, since the Army is a nomadic unit. It was later opened to civilian members of the society.
The problem with the system is corruption within the high echelon of the Army who see the establishment as a money making cow. I once taught in one of them at Ibadan. They replace the commandant frequently (number one problem), when they come they do so with the mindset to cut their own cake, they come with different knife sizes... Very very corrupt set of people, they kill the system

How obaseki has managed to Completely ruin and brought edo state to her knees is another wonder of the world, the man is simply just useless beyond imagination.
To me the real wonder of the world in all of it is how people in Edo State managed to fall for his campaign gimmick despite seeing his utter neglect of schools without further doing a single renovation after Oshiomhole left in 2016.

OP, why are you complaining, are you new in edo state?
The devil and obaseki are in a collaborative mission to cause pain, sorrow and anguish to the people of edo state and till obaseki completely accomplish this I believe he will never rest.
Foolish and useless governor
From my study of the people that make up what we now know as Edo State, I came to the conclusion that they don't deserve good leaders.
Consider how they voted out Ambrose Alli who moved big mountains within just four years and later in 1999 voted for Lucky Igbinedion whose record as Oredo Chairman was nothing to write home about, and voted him in 2003 for a second term even when they heard his biological father say loud and clear that his son's first term was a disaster, and then voted for Obaseki for second term with his poor first term record.
I no longer blame Edo politicians. The Edo masses themselves are the problem of Edo State.

Galvanise past sets to do something about this rot. That's how Yale, Havard and other schools do.

They set up a yearly subscription to do use to renovate their alma maters.

That it upsets you is a very good sign. Champion the renovation of the school please.

God be with you and provide the funds to do it.

May others catch this fire of yours too.

Another foolish brain dead Nigerian who'd rather deep their head inside a sinking sand than hold the government responsible for its failures.

Is it the colleagues that have been jobless due to lack of adequate education gotten from the school that will organise themselves to GIVE BACK?

What is the reason for having a government then if its responsibilities are still being pushed to the people like you're suggesting?

I won't say you don't have sense though.
he is bereft of sense

Such a shame on the govt.
Command Secondary school is a Federal school supposedly run by the federal government.

I myself went to Command Day.

Unfortunately, the federal government of this era doesn't give a crap about education as it is.

So that particular school may end up getting even more dilapidated than the pictures here.

This is one of the relocated barracks. The Army Barracks at Ikpoba Hill was moved to Ekhewan while the one opposite Uselu market was moved to after Uniben near palm royal hotel.

The other command schools I know in Benin are envy for other schools.

OP, I schooled in Benin too, our old girls association are doing great, most of the things in my alma mata were provided by the alumna.

this is a govt school, I left the school in 2014, it is completely run by the state govt, it is located in a former barracks at ramat park, Benin City.
Command Secondary schools are not owned by State Govt. They are owned and controlled by The Nigeriam Army Education Corp. and from my findings as an ex- commando that school in benin is not a comand secondary school but an army children school which is owned by the state Govt and controlled by state Govt.
We the CSS Alumni work hard to make sure CSS remains the best interms of discipline and Standard. Pls if trully its a comman Secondary School kindly provide the Commandants Name pls.

Bros is it command secondary School? Asin Army Children's school?

I'm asking because, command is one of the secondary schools I'm planning to enrol my son next year. I'm highly disappointed with these pictures.

you can see pics of chairs been donated by corporate individuals, I learnt alumni and parents gather money to pay employ teachers, isn't that enough? Are they supposed to do everything for the state govt when they are even struggling to feed themselves?

Wasn't he in APC before cross-carpeting? Must you bring political parties into everything? Sometimes think critically before you type.

Corruption has eaten up the government deeply in such a way that even if you contribute money to fix it, they will pocket it.

This school is pure evidence that Nigeria is swiftly going backward.

Billions are being channeled to education with nothing to show for it.

The old men leading this country are the worst set of Nigerians.

There is nothing we can say. A country where our vote doesn't count.
If we protest, they'll send hoodlums.

If we stay calm they will create a new rule so as to trigger our anger yet again. If we vote...

They've shut the doors in all areas of kicking them out.
If votes don't count, then why do politicians buy votes with as much as N10,000 each during elections?
