Thank you so much for this. This is always my opinion.

Is it the money that people drain into property in Nigeria that will take ages to complete?

Who are you building the houses for? The children that are in the UK or is it for when you are ready to retire. The house may not even be liveable by then and why will you want to go and stay permanently in Nigeria when you are old without access to health care

With this ever increasing exchange rate, it does not make sense for business reason as well.

This is very key but not many people will put it into consideration .. especially our brother who is saying otherwise

Well on the issue of spending the rest of your life abroad is left to you

Some of us , are only sons of our fathers (I handle our family pharmaceutical business, we into importing of drugs) ,some of us still value our culture … (if I die 2day, I would still love to buried in my home)… forget na Nigeria sweet and our people get fun vibes…Na economy and our government wey bad dey spoil here

There’s a reason while some people pay as high as 5 million to bring back corpse of dia beloved ones from overseas to be buried home

Home na Home baba !!!

The major reason ,a lot of people are migrating is solely because of the economy of today Nigeria is bad

That is why ,you see a 40 year old man looking for student visa ,just to japa

Let’s tell ourselves the truth
If 1 dollar was = 1 naira

You won’t find 50 percent of the people at the embassy, infact even those in the UK would want to come back home self

Na better life dey make our people wan jabo …nothing else.

Those that fly corpse to Nigeria for burial, have some weird obsession with corpse or fulfilling the obligation of the dead.......

The dead would never rise, buried in Nigeria or abroad.........

If $1 equates 1 naira, the rate of migration would not be high, but migration would still happen.......

In the 60'- 80's, when 1 naira had more value, than £1...... People still migrated.......

Only son, first daughter, last son etc etc..... Is simply just an argument, that holds no weight....... We have Father's, Mother's, that adopted children to look after their interests....... We also have Father's, Mother's that disinherited their biological children....

Culture and traditions, are instructions left by the dead..... The dead, cannot hold me to ransom........ wink

Good access to health care.

Come on bro…let’s be realistic, there are very good and expensive hospitals in Nigeria

Infact , there are hospitals in Nigeria, you will find your white British doctors

Not access to health care

It should be “not access to funds to afford those hospitals”

People die from from cancer too in the almighty UK and US

Have you seen where people are involved in accident and are left there till they die. At that moment, access to money will not matter.

Here, even wounded terrorist will be given medical attention.

Your president and other politicians with all their money travel abroad for medical check up.

It is even going to get worst now that UK and other countries are raiding intelligent doctors from Nigeria. Las Las na auxiliary doctors will remain for naija, if things continue at this rate.

This is why many of us fail when we get there

You can’t be overly rich there

Hustle for good number of years , get something solid home you can fall back to

By that time , you have your papers ,if you wanna stroll in and out of UK no problem

But when you go there and start living anyhow , you go jonze

The only thing juicy abt hustling overseas is just the currency …nothing much

Davido with all his dual citizenship, still love vibing in naija

Buying properties up n down

All I see here is our exposure determines our mindset...some people will not see the light until they change their circle

Make una do wetin sweet una

...but I totally agree that it is a waste of resources building in nigeria when you can have properties in the uk that will appreciate and remain standard.

...if you do decide to go home, liquidating one property in the UK will build you an estate in nigeria or at least one of the same standard (that is if the pounds does crumble)
