That was just grandstanding. His real test would be his response to Ipob and Boko Haram. He may even have more success with fighting boko haram than ipob because igbos will jump on any decisive decision he tries to make against ipob as an attack on their tribe, and use social media and other medias to demonize his person. I just don't see him having the guts to take tough decisions.

Nigeria needs a leader that doesn't mind making enemies for doing the right thing. Not a populist that would only wants to look popular at the expense of the country's economy, unity, and security. Osinbajo is a nice man, but I see another Goodluck Jonathan in him. Nigeria is too complex for a Mr. Nice guy. A Nigerian president has to be willing to give orders to the military to kill bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists like boko haram and ipob when it matters. Can pastor do that without minding the backlash from blackmailers? I seriously doubt it.

Ipob will die a natural death under Osinbanjo, same way NDA died under his acting Presidency. Infact that LL b the least of his problem. Ipob is just doing gra gra just because of their hatred towards PMB and fulani.

Boko Haram need someone whose head is correct, not this one PMB is doing as if he is supporting them and their co herders . Aside security, Osinbanjo is generally loved and every parastatal will fear (nobody will like to mess with him) just d way he did to DSS boss, they didn't see that coming.. leave it o, DNT carry Osinbanjo current calmness under PMB for granted o.

Whichever, an Osinbanjo on sit is a Tinubu Presidency in disguise getting the full support .

While I don't entirely like Tinubu, I can't deny the man is tact and tenacious. Igbos must learn from him and lower their worthless ego that has brought them nothing but setback.

By my elementary knowledge of Government as a subject in secondary school, changing the laws of a country (which in this context is restructuring back to the true federalism we started with at independence) is a duty that rests with the legislature and not the executive. So how this argument about the prospect of Tinubu, Atiku, Osinbajo, etc being able or not being able to give us true federalism if they become president is something I don't understand. We can only talk about who of them is genuinely pro-restructuring and judging from antecedents, Atiku should not be mentioned where Tinubu and Osinbajo are being listed as advocates of restructuring. Atiku was with Obasanjo when the later convoked a parallel SNC to that of the civil societies in 2005 and he didn't take exception to Obasanjo. Atiku had and won eleven court cases against Obasanjo and none of the suits was about restructuring.

Osinbajo will be a disaster as president because many of us don't see him having the kind of resolve and guts to confront security challenges like ipob, boko haram and bandits with the kind of guts needed in a Nigerian president. Being a pastor makes it even worse.

Let's face the truth, Nigeria needs a leader that can confront security threats as well as economic challenges. Terrorists like ipob especially would run rings round Osinbajo because he'll be afraid to offend igbos. I can already see igbos using ipob to blackmail his administration for wanting to keep the country united. Atiku Abubakar or even a Tinubu would make better presidents because they've fought many political battles and survived, and they have the political connections to get things done across regions.

Chai one Nigeria people.the only reason you need tinubu in power is to oppress the Igbos.

A wise man choose his wars carefully.this my only advise for you and your masters.our father's though is how to fight.

Look here. No matter how much you hate Trump, the fact remains that over 70million Americans voted for him because they believed in his leadership capabilities. That represents about half of all Americans. There is a time for every thing. Nigeria is currently at war on several fronts, against terrorists, bandits, secessionist and so on. To some of them (like the secessionists and terrorists) they are not ready to negotiate unless the government yields to their demands. You can't pretend to be at peace when you are at war. That is a recipe for defeat and failure. If Nigeria wants to remain united, it can't afford a weak president. If not, Buhari should just split the country already because that's the only outcome that will satisfy boko haram and ipob.

But if unity is what is wanted, the likes of ipob and boko haram must be crushed and defeated. If they don't surrender their ambition (which will only come from their defeat since their demand is simple - breaking the country), they will continue to disturb any government in power. I'm just being a realist.

Being a realist is different from being wise. You don't kill a fly that perches on your scrotum with a hammer. You can't kill ideology with guns.... Ask America about their 20 years war in Afghanistan. You will only waste resources for the next 100 years.

Have you thought about killing off boko haram and ipob by knowing their root causes?

Equality can kill off Ipob
Education can kill off Boko-haram.

These two means are 90% more effective and cheaper than trying to crush. Go back and check how much has been put in fighting Boko-haram, that would have been enough to educate and feed the poor masses there.

What you will use to fight IPOB is enough to fix federal dilapidated Eastern roads.

As much as you hate Osibanjo, he may likely have a more pragmatic approach to Nigeria's problems than your unwise endless fighters. I bet you don't know the cost of fighting war and the amount of casualties on both sides.

Keep screaming crush crush crush.

Hey man I understand where you are coming from, but you are going to have to do better than just using that simple argument because the choice you'll get could be any of these two (Tinubu or Osibanjo) VS say Atiku.

Until the "good guys" roll up their sleeves and trousers to get their hands dirty and feet wet by infiltrating both APC and PDP..... You'll have to choose from what's presented to you. So pick your poison.
Can't we have another person? Why is always all these people?? They will not do anything than to loot more of Nigeria treasury. Why always these people?? Ooh God And bros do you know that you're very wicked?? You say I should pick my poison??

While I would've wanted a south-easterner as President but with IPOB setting the east further back, I can only support a Tinubu emergence now. Man has done a lot for Lagos State, forget the narrative he has stolen the state, which government official hasn't stolen money and worse off, still done nothing.

You seem to have forgotten that
1. Under the present government, a bill was sent to the National Assembly for devolution of more powers to the states but both the Senate and House of Representatives voted it down.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/1999-constitution-alterations-senate-votes-powers-states/amp/

2. Buhari was, in a report of Punch Newspaper, was quoted as saying that he is not against establishment of state police as long as any state that decides to embark on it can fund it hence not start disturbing the FG for support. And come to think about it; with the over 700 million monthly average going to the states governors as security vote, which state can you argue will not be able to fund state police? Why are state houses of assembly not creating police for their respective states except Kano which created a religious-based one?

I like Osinbanjo as a person, but with the present Nigerian situation; insecurity in North and south east, he lacks the ability to lead the country out of the quagmire. If peradventure he becomes the President, Ipob will blackmail him, bully him, they will demonize him and his tribe. He does not have the guts and balls to weather such a situation. Osinbanjo is a men-pleaser like Gej. Ipob and Northern bandits will capitalize on his indecision to wreck havoc. Let us not be emotional, I like him as a person, but as a leader? No. Marwa, Fashola, Akeredolu and El-Rufai will do far better as a President than Osinbanjo.

Are you suggesting that it was the military establishment alone that voted in 1999? Were there no members of the military establishment in Yorubaland where Obasanjo was overwhelmingly rejected at the ballot?

I'm glad you agreed some people rejected obj.

Once two popular candidate emerge, the most popular will certainly win because of the financial backing he has.
Politics involves spending big money and having diverse support. Falae lacked that popularity outside the West and the whole Nigeria already know Obj. And their was lots of rigging too. The highest rigger simply won

Chidari can say that again, Asiwaju was truly instrumental in the emergence of Buhari in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

Hence, Asiwaju should be appreciated and supported when the need arises.

My reservation is his medical condition.

The question is, is Tinubu or Atiku healthy enough to run this country at thier age, else we'll repeat Buhari's mistake, having a figure head that's slow to issues or people flaunting his directives bkos he's too slow to act swiftly bkos many issues also demands his attention, I understand that there's a place for diplomacy and tact which comes with age and experience but guy, some kind things also require gra gra as well.

Energy and foresight works hand in hand to bring dynamic changes that this country dearly needs, that's why I'll prefer a younger candidate with an older one being deputy for foresight, just like Obama and Biden kind of style.
