Ronaldo is never a Manchester United problem but a big asset for them. He scored important goals and assist. What do you want from striker again?

it's still too early to tell, but i guess this is as a result of yday's game. objectively, the loss to Liverpool had nothing to do with him and everything to do with the coach's tactics and a set of overhyped defenders at the back, coupled with a lethargic middle that lacked intensity. but the defense mostly was culprit. if any blame the coach who still insist on starting Maguire and even giving him captaincy. He lacks command and organization as a center back and was hugely responsible for the organized confusion at the back. conceding two cheap goals in a big game is risky and hoping the frontline does a comeback....well, miracles don't happen everyday.

As for Ronaldo, by virtue of his name, he alongside Messi are held to a higher standard. Yes, he had an awful quiet game but the game itself was dead before Manutd had the chance to get into rhythm. He gave us a glimpse of his prowess in that goal he scored, though cancellled by Var, showing he only needs supply to do his thing; he stated in a recent interview that his job primarily is to score and help out in defense when he can as required. Y'all need to stop this idea of trying to make Ronaldo do everything cos even his rival, Messi doesn't ; Messi gets a pass cos his play is more asthetic as it requires him demanding for the ball more often, unlike Ronaldo who doesn't need that many touches. Point is, so long as they do their job, no problem.

Ronaldo is 36 already, a proper manager surely will know how to incorporate that in his tactics. This version of Ronaldo existed at Madrid and they didn't have a problem of wining titles because everyone knew their role and played dearly for it. Madrid used Ronaldo's perceived individualistic attitude to game to their advantage and it worked. Ever since he left Madrid, Ronaldo has lacked consistency of coaches to properly carve out the teams approach to play and that's made it seem like having Ronaldo is a liability.

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo might just have made united weaker.

Up until this season, United knew how to win against the big teams as Solskjaer deployed a counterattacking system in which his team sat behind the ball, compressing the space in the simplest way possible.

A run of tricky games – they play the other five of the ‘Big Six’ before November is out – gives a chance for Solskjaer to recover, then, and yet the collapse against Leicester suggests Ronaldo has made United worse at the one thing they did well.

Of all the forwards to have played three Premier League games this season, Ronaldo ranks bottom of the table for pressures, with 17, significantly fewer than second-bottom Romelu Lukaku’s 43.

Predictably, Ronaldo’s disinterest in pressing has spread like an infection through the squad. It was remarkable to watch how easily Leicester passed from centre-back into central midfield, with one vertical ball past Ronaldo allowing Youri Tielemans or Boubakary Soumare to turn and run towards goal.

Carragher has been speaking about the attacker’s comeback to United. Even though he is “one of the greatest players of all time”, the pundit claims that Ronaldo may have a “negative” influence on the team:

Manchester United needed a midfield anchor like Ndidi or Saul more than they needed another attacker, Ronaldo might mask this deficiency, but there were still warning signs in the performance against Newcastle in his second debut for United.

Now it's all too glaring to see against a team of Liverpool's caliber where the disorganized system of United was exposed by the Liverpool team.

Solskjaer might have his tactical flaws but this is a team that finished second last season being thrashed by Liverpool.

Ronaldo's unwillingness to track back and defend is really affecting the team and has taken the shine off Cavani who had a great season the previous season.

Mehn you have said it all.. your post are for only those who u.stand football tactics..the only thing i will add is if you are forced to hve a cr7 in your team a good coach shld adapt by changing formations.. cavani is a total 9 in the calibre of van n. Or giroud or benzema.. ronaldo shines more as a wing forward. Playing cr7 with his back to the goal which is an unnatural position for him at his age is manutd's problem. A total 9 holds up play, Drops deep to pressure opposition defenders and thus allowing his wingers to have space on goal or pass cutbacks..this is what firmino does to devastating effect.

Ronald is a big problem for united,
i saw it .
cavani is a beta option.
it's obvious last season man u performance was better before CR7 arival.
Ole is not the problem, ronaldo should be on the bench for a while,
the result will change.

Mumu talk. They conceded 5, is that due to pressure from the forward? Conceded two quick goals against Atalanta, shey na still Ronaldo's fault?

Lol,am not man u fan talk of Ronaldo. But am wondering if anyone of these guys watched the game at all.

Combination of the 3 towards was very wrong considering how they play.

The two centerbacks were fatigued and constantly out of position even in tackling. This always creat loose gaps that the left and right back constantly try to cover making them play out of position and liverpool constantly took advantage of these holes. Their keeper can't stop shouting at those center backs all through the game.

Lol,.some guys here are just arguing out of sentiment

Useless assumption. Instead of you asking if the coach as the Brain to coach the team with the strongest player Man u is having right now... Ole is the problem right now and not Ronaldo....

Or Ronaldo made a huge mistake signing for Man U
Re: Did Man Utd Make A Huge Mistake Signing Ronaldo? by ThierryJay: 10:31am On Oct 25, 2021
For all those asking how Ronaldo weakens Man utd, here is it. Based on recent statistics, Ronaldo is the least defensive outfield player in the EPL by a very big margin.

If you know what that statistic implies, then you'd know it means all the time CR is on the pitch and not scoring, it's like Man utd is playing with 10-men which puts way more pressure on the other players than necessary and makes them more likely to crumble defensively.

In today's football the best teams defend from the front (Bayern, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Madrid and even PSG) and this contributes a lot to their success on the pitch. So asking if Ronaldo is a defender is both naive and outdated.

Apart from that, CR tends to take away the attacking initiative from other players and Bruno and Greenwood are suffering for it.

So like I said, Ronaldo will still give you a few Siu moments based on his experience, but for the most part, the overall net impact of his presence on the team is more of Shior.

Liverpool 4-0 Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s defeat against Liverpool is the next on our list of Real Madrid biggest losses in history.
The two teams went against each other in the round of 16 of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League.

Believe me with Sancho and lingers the coach would do a better job. Remember Man U came 3r, 2nd previous seasons so with the way they are playing would you say he has improved them?

U are not a man u fan , cos if u were , u wud know man u had 15 points after 9 games last season and sat 7th .... same as this season... if u were a man u fan , ud know man u conceded 53 goals last season... finishing 2nd last season was down to the off form of Chelsea and Liverpool....if the Chelsea and Liverpool of now were like this last season, man u will not finish in top 3... Bayern Munich 9-1 Real Madrid
Back in August 1980, Real Madrid experienced one of their worst defeats in history!
Regarded as one of Real Madrid highest defeats ever, the Whites went home after a devastating 9-1 loss against the Bavarians during the pre-season.
