The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has disclosed that after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, he had advised Sunday Igboho over his then actions against herdsmen in the south west.. He said Igboho failed to listen to the president’s warning due to wrong advice from people. The Ooni of Ife said Igboho won’t be facing the current travail, if he had listened to the warning. The monarch made the revelation in an interview with BBC Yoruba. “Many people advised him wrongly. He listened to them. He started abusing everyone, including monarchs. Igboho is locked up in Benin Republic after his attempt to travel to Germany was foiled. He had fled Nigeria to Cotonou, where he was arrested and locked up. Igboho wasn't arrested for fighting herdsmen. When he went to chase those herdsmen, he wasn't arrested. He was arrested when he derailed from fighting herdsmen to anti Nigeria. No govt in the world overlooks that, the moment they see something to nail you(like illegal possessions of arm) they'll do so quickly. |
