This man's case is ok. If you were a politician and tou dont loot, your spouse will be your greatest challenge. The way the person will mount pressure on you to loot. Such is life now. Crime is an opportunity now in Naija. Only scapegoats are criminals.

I once dropped my phone in one village like that in the north, it was during one of my road trips...I only noticed about an hour later when I stopped to refuel. So I decided to call, d aboki picked up & said d phone is with him, make I come collect, I turned back, still doubting, but dis man was standing on d road waiting for me with his kid. He refused to collect d money I gave him He said in Hausa " I did it because of God & do not need any monetary reward" . So I just gave him a half bag of rice I was carrying with me, Also slotted 2k on d son's pocket. Omoh..dat phone was worth almost 180k at dat time, d man impressed me

My friend I did the same thing 2005 by returning the money was mistakenly giving to me by my customer. The Money was #130.000 even the woman didn't appreciate what I did 4 her. In 2014 I lost #248.000 nobody return anything back to me so it seems that doing good today doesn't attract reward from any supernatural being.

Appreciate as in 'give you out of it' or 'tell you thank you?'

few people commended him, a lot more scolded him for being ‘foolish’ for returning such amount in this ‘time of hardship’.

Tells a lot about the citizens of the most religious country in the world. If you check it, same people condemning him now are always in the front row in church every Sunday, praying like it's their last day on Earth. Smh
