TFLASHOGEE:Italy won the Semi finals and finals by penalties. That is not experience. France won a well fought game after a Monday blowing encounter with Spain. So how does this suit your experience, men vs boys stance? If your stance is right, Spain will not do so well. Simple. |

When it comes to Winning trophies, leave for the men not boys. We are not talking about QF or semi finals but winning trophies. At a stage you separate boys from men.It was Enyeama, Mikel,MBA(local war Lord), Emenike ( who has been playing professionally for years) Moses( played for years in England) their contribution that propelled us to victory in 2013 not undermining the contribution of others TheGoodJoe: |

zuchyblink:You have change to winning trophies. Why did Spain then beat Italy in the Semi finals with lots of inexperienced players. Or the Men are only men in the final. Why did France not become men to get to Euro finals. You guys are dribbling the truth. Spain has a very inexperienced team and they are doing very well. They reached the Semi Finals of the Euros and reached the finals of the Nation's League. They will likely get to the finals, semi finals or even win the next World Cup because it is a very good team. Why are they so good? Because it is a team selected and built on a sound philosophy and playing pattern. It plug holes to your experience theory, if not they will not perform so well. |

zuchyblink: The Spanish team is a young side and on their day can outplay and win any team in Europe. Keep in mind Gavi is 17 years. |

TheGoodJoe:Italian ways of winning does penalties was with their level of experiences and not luck because they won their last 2 matches to lift the competition with penalties which means other doesn't have same level of luck grace to them laughable go check the way does Spanish player's where playing penalties with school boy errors you can't tell me does Spanish youngersters have the tempo to compose them self at that point of time compere to chiellini and bonucci who both experienced what it been like due to their past experiences playing penalties in same competition. |

Calculate the average age of team it was far above the average age of the 2019 squad.some of the players were new in the national team but were not new in the game of soccer TheGoodJoe: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zuchyblink(m): 1:56pm On Oct 27, 2021 |
Technically they were not inexperienced TheGoodJoe: |

But my point remains that experienced players do better than inexperienced players. The facts are there TheGoodJoe: |

zuchyblink: So experience is age, not amount of National team caps as you were posting earlier. I hope you know they call this shifting goal post Either way, whether caps or age, the Spanish team will not be this good if it was down to that. We need to wake up from that delusion that has tarnished our football for long. Come up with a sound system and select the best players to suit it. No room for experience talk. Best players to suit each role. With all the age and caps, Peter Rufai was a mess in France 98. |

Winning trophies is the problem. France outplayed a star studded Spanish team in 2006 because they were inexperienced. Four years later we all know how it ended TheGoodJoe: |

zuchyblink:Where is the fact in that? How old and how many caps did Ronaldo De Lima have before becoming the best player in the World? What of Messi? Ronaldo was a teenager when he became a top player for Portugal. How old is Nuno Mendes and he is fantastic. How old was Ronaldhino when he took the world by storm? Unless you don't know football. It is not age but what you can bring. That is why Neymar became one of the best players in Brazil at a young age. Same with Benzema. Pele, Maradona. |

Let your analysis be holistic. Experienced teams do better simple TheGoodJoe: |

zuchyblink: I doubt you watched the game to write outplayed. |

zuchyblink:There is no experience team but teams made of the best players. You don't go and pack old players and fill your team to win trophies. You select players for the adopted strategies and are the best in each role. If the best players are young in the team, they play. When Xavi, Ramos, Iniesta, etc were growing in the team, they were the best but young. When they were long in the team, they were still the best. Simple. That experience talk is delusional. You only play the best in each role. Jorginho and Veratti are the best midfielders in Italy. If a 17 years old boy is better than them, he will play. Just as Gavi who is 17 will play ahead of an experienced Isco. That is why Nuno Mendes at 19 can start for PSG and Portugal. Now ask yourself. Is Ighalo today among our best three strikers? Is Musa among our best forwards? If your answer is no, they have no reason being near the team. |

Mba wasn't a local warlord anything. Guy was just your average local league player looking for a big break. Emenike wasn't a first team starter like that pre-AFCON or have you forgotten how people wrote off the team because we didn't go with experienced players like Obafemi Martins, Osaze etc? 2013 was as rookie as it gets. This our current squad you conveniently forget has players plying their trade in better leagues, better competitions against better quality opposition. zuchyblink: |

zuchyblink:Which of the current crop of super eagles is new to the game of soccer. Even the Amoo you're writing off is not new to the game of soccer last I checked he has played at the U17 nations cup and world cup. If Ansu Fati, Gavi, Pedri who are teenagers can be called up to senior team can compete then its really and totally wrong to Say Amoo should be for post AFCON. If he's so good and injury free, call him up let him show his mettle. Jude Bellingham was 16 years and some days and played for England at the Euros. |
