charlesemeka85: That is not the context. I am taking of Wenger's ability to spot a young boy who can become a phenom. Then later he changed and was stopping young future stars from coming in. |

charlesemeka85: Wenger was bidding under five million and Ferguson paid over ten million. |

Super Eagles List For Liberia, Cape Verde Clash – Rohr List Ighalo Among Strikers thestreetjournal.org Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Al Shabab of Saudi Arabian forward Odion Ighalo is in his provisional list of players for the World Cup qualifiers next month. Nigeria will first play Liberia at their new home ground in Morocco before returning home to round up the qualifiers with a game against Cape Verde in Lagos. The Super Eagles currently hold a two point lead over second place Cape Verde but Rohr is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to ensure that the finish the qualifiers on a high, and he has listed Ighalo who quit the team in 2019 among the strikers for the games. In an interview with Elegbete TV, the German coach confirmed the invitation of the forward saying his leadership will be key for the remaining games but he however sounded unsure about the forward accepting the call, although according to Rohr Ighalo still has the ambition to help the Super Eagles. “Because we miss his leadership, we miss his experience, we miss the goals he scores, he was the best scorer at the AFCON, the best scorer during the qualifiers and I think we have so many young players and they could learn a lot on the side of such a great player. Ighalo is a very important man. I hope that he can come back”; he said in the interview monitored by OwnGoalNigeria editorial team. “I put him in the bigger provisional first list for the next games, we are in touch. He is doing very well at his club and he still has the ambition to help his country. |

TheGoodJoe:do you know the reason mikel didn’t sign for United after trialing with the team was he was to be sent on loan to royal Antwerp in the Belgian league? Even Roy keane already had young mikel on his wings as a mentor and fergie already gave him a nick name ‘Obie 1’ after impressing the Scottish tactician? |

charlesemeka85: Mikel was not sent on loan. Ferguson did not sign him and wanted to pull a fast one with Mikel. I feel it was a shady deal gone wrong because Ferguson really loved Mikel. The plan was for Anderson to act as Mikel's agent and sell him to Manchester United from Lynn Oslo. It backfired. |

12large1:He does that all the time. No coach in Nigeria's footballing history has such a defeatist mindset. If there was one thing Westerhof had, it was courage and that is why his team played with so much swagger. From the beginning they start attacking vigorously - no fear, no hesitation. But Rohr team be moving like a patched up vehicle on a bad road. |

Mujtahida:He has normalized this defeatist statement towards the players that fans don’t even reevaluate the jargons that he just voiced. First of all, I am not saying that SE present squad is comparable to any team on the world stage. But, in Africa our squad is good enough to challenge any team and our coach should stop downplaying his team publicly in form of motivation. The only luck that Rohr has, is that he has met all his contractual target thus far |

andrewbaba44:Ok, I like Awaziem, but can he defend and cover for Balogun and WTE ? Not sure which is why I had him in my Midfield Ebuehi before his injury could do a job at RWB but I haven't really watched him recently Simon is still our best option just doesn't pass in time, Aina can't dribble and cross , abeg But good points |

12large1:We are so poor defensively, thats why I chose 352. Flood the midfield, protect the back 3 and hit the opponents on counter. Unfortunately our lack of pace since the departure of Victor Moses is evident.. U can sub in Chukwueze and ejuke if chasing a goal. Instead of trying to beg Victor Moses back our mumu coach wants to beg Ighalo. Nice points though |

One thing I like about Oliseh. Only if we can have a consortium of coaches (each handling a special role) consisting of players from that "94 set. Think Emanalo, Adepoju, Amuneke, Oliseh (if he can work with a team), Siasia (not thinking of his current predicament). in these coaches and a few others, there is a scout, a tactician, an analyst etc. And why do I say this? Simply, BELIEF. These coaches can translate their "you can beat the best" mentality to our current players who already look up to them. They have done this before in the past when we were one of the best in the world, and today they still don't have an iota of doubt that we can do better things beyond Africa. For them it will be unfinished business. https://www.hub-soccer.com/2021/06/21/sunday-oliseh-nigeria-has-the-potential-to-be-a-world-champion/ 12large1:

Subzero047:Yes seria A has lost it some years ago,Ronaldo signing by Juventus brought some respite to the league. When Victor Osimehn signed for Napoli I wasn't happy cos I remember Napoli only with Diego Armanda Maradona, nothing more. I think Osimehn playing for Napoli gave Seria A highly rating here.I can't remember last time Italian clubs won any major Uefa cup, though Italy won euro but I remember Greece won it sometimes ago so sometimes it doesn't reflected state of the league. Honestly watching EPL,LA LIGA and BUNDESLIGA gave someone perfect reflection of real footballing. Serial A teams are too negatives in their approaches to the games. |

FIFA clear Ademola Lookman, Ovie Ejaria for Super Eagles…finally Scorenigeria RB Leipzig agree £22.5 million for Ademola Lookman Ademola Lookman can now play for Super Eagles After several anxious months, world football governing body FIFA have finally cleared Ademola Lookman and Ovie Ejaria to play for the Super Eagles, according to media reports. Forward Lookman and midfielder Ejaria have previously featured for England at various age-grade levels but have now opted to play for Nigeria, where their parents were born. Lookman plays for Red Bull Leipzig but was on loan at Fulham in the Premier League in England this past season. He is a direct-playing forward and weighs in with his own fair share of goals and assists. Ejaria, on the other hand, is a creative central midfielder with Reading FC in the English Championship. The 23-year-old player was previously on the books of Premier League outfit Liverpool. His creativity will be most welcomed in the Eagles midfield with his great vision and wide range of passing skills. |

Joebie:I remember Keshi press conference with journalists before Cote d' voire match Afcon 2013...he said I have Mikel,Enyeama when people were saying can your team beat Cote d'Voire team with Drogba,Yaya Toure. Rohr just need to improve on his press statement when meeting better team, well what can one say about a coach that is ready to call Ighalo back despite having two good strikers doing it very well every weeks in Europe top five leagues. Initially the World always see Nigeria as a very arrogant team cos we don't give a damn even if you have Messi and Ronaldo combined in a team but now that confidence is no longer there...the team just need that mentality back. |

No! we don't over rate him neither do we rate him as highly as foreigners do him. Osimhen brings much more to the party than just goals, and this is what sets him apart. There are strikers and there are strikers
