It is actually insulting to the likes osimehn and Ndidi when their national team coach downplays his players by saying, that they don’t have players in the mould of a Salah and mane. By voicing such derogatory comments, you’re disrespecting your own superstars “osimehn and Ndidi” and also motivating your direct opponents/Rival. Rohr is lucky that he is dealing with an incompetent FA because some of his comments are terminable offenses at bigger club. Can you imagine Barcelona coach saying that Barcelona don’t have a good squad as Real Madrid? For example, 1 v 1 Algeria didn’t had the strongest squad at the last ANC, but they won it despite Senegal and Ivory Coast having a stronger squad on paper. It was simply down to their coach motivation and believe. He was saying from the on set, that Algeria are aspiring to win the nations cup and look at what happened |

Yes we don't have players in the league of Salah, Mane and Mahrez. |

If I was super eagles superstars like osimehn and Ndidi, anytime Rohr downplay them to their direct rival, I would reciprocate similar behavior. For example Interviewer: Congratulations osimehn on your hat trick vs senegal Osimehn: Yes, thank you… our coach might not be as good as Senegal coach, but the players collectively believed in each other and assisted me to score important goals…. Let Rohr take a dose of his own medicine. |

FIFApresident1:It is a big fat Lie. This season, osimehn has been as good as anyone in Africa including Salah, mane and mahrez. Ndidi has been regarded as one of the best DM in the epl for the past few seasons and just because he isn’t an attacking player shouldn’t negate his top notch defensive duties. This season, osimehn has more goals than Mahrez and mane and aside of his goals, his performances has been world class this season. It is a big Fat lie to say that we don’t have any player in the mould of Salah, mane and mahrez. Also, a coach should not be downplaying his team to his direct rival… fans can make such comments, but as a coach, you shouldn’t be making such comments |

MetalJigsaw:We should stop these habit of criticizing Napoli when osimehn doesn’t score. As a potential world class striker, defenders will be instructed to man mark you and any half chances or full chances that you get, you should score. Yesterday alone, he should had scored at least 2 goals (missed chances) but it doesn’t matter simply because his team won and he created the penalties |

andrewbaba44:Although, people are showing their grievances because osimehn didn’t take any penalties. But, how many player will still be given the responsibility of taking penalties when they have missed 3 in 5 at the beginning of a season? Insigne was following coach orders but he should had been classy to give osimehn 1 considering the score line and osimehn initiating the penalties. Consequently, osimehn was self centered by not celebrating with his team mate after scoring… they are both wrong in my opinion |

12large1:So penalty is now important , Lol Insigne is the Messi of Napoli , the earlier you accept this the better for you He has missed 3 in 5 ? He scored 2 yesterday ,his sins has been forgiven Insigne is not Messi ,95 percent of footballers are greedy with PK Messi has gifted 29 penalty to teammates |

andrewbaba44:Osimehn form has been better than mane this season. He isn’t a winger, but he is an equivalent of mane at his position. I agree that Salah has been one of the best players this season, but osimehn is close enough. Either way, they’re our direct rivals and your coach shouldn’t be down playing his star men to their direct rivals. You as a fan, can say such but our coach shouldn’t |

FIFApresident1: When Nigeria was to play Brazil in Atlanta 96, they had the likes of Bebeto, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Roberto Carlos. Of these names Ronaldo and Rivaldo went on to win the ballon d'or and Roberto Carlos finished runner up in voting. Ze Carlos and Conceicao (he scored two goals against us) went on to play for Real Madrid. Dida played for AC Milan. We were up against some of the best players in the World. One thing was clear, our coaching crew and the players did not give a damn. We believed we could go against any team and beat them. TheGoodJoe: |

andrewbaba44:You are always turning everything to comparison... There's no player as good as Salah at the moment,yes.... But there are many players having enough impact at their clubs like Salah and Mane, and that includes our own players too.. So Rohr is totally wrong to have made that statement... As a coach, you shouldn't be belittling your players, it can affect them psychologically on the pitch...It's like a father telling his children that they aren't good enough to measure up to their peers academically..It's wrong! |

TheGoodJoe:Yes, even keshi team was inferior to the Ivory Coast team (on paper) but, they were fearless and defeated those Ivorians with drogba, Yaya and co. In order to be a winner, you have to first believe that you’re a winner |

BascoVanVeli:And he is even wrong for that matter. In the past, we can agree that, there wasn’t any superstars in the mould of drogba, yaya… but now, osimehn is as equivalent and good as any player in Africa at their various position likewise ndidi….. |

Kog45:Rohr himself does the work for the opposite team even before our players step into the pitch. He will set up his team to defend instead of unleashing the attacking verve we have. Rohr na virus ooo. I've never criticized any SE Coach the way I criticize Rohr because I have seen that he lacks what is needed to move us forward |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 12large1: 9:52am On Oct 29, 2021 |
The only angle to justify Rohr belittling comments is the “mind game” angle. Maybe, he feels like if he keep belittling his superstars, it will motivate them to defeat their rival.. if that’s Rohr aim, he is absolutely wrong because there are other ways (winners mentality) to motivate his players than to belittle them to their rival. His saving grace is that, he has met all his pre contractual agreement thus far. If not, some of his statements are terminable offenses |

Is there way to integrate Akinkunmi Amoo in super eagles asap. He is just one year older than Ansu fati of Barcelona who is also a key member of the Spanish national team. So he is not young at all. He's game is top notch rn. The earlier the better for his confidence level. Meanwhile He can play as a right winger or as an attacking midfielder with good eye for goals. In the absence of Iwobi and Chukwueze respectively. I'm just thinking aloud |
