Copshop (2021) 7/10

Copshop is a retelling of a premise we've seen more than thrice in cop movies about the rookie who gets in over their head. And Alexis Louder's Val isn't even the first rookie with a past in the military to explain their extra competence.
What really carries this movie for me is the dialogue. From Val's banter with her chief to the discussion between Gerard Butler's Viddick and Frank Grillo's Teddy down to their greater evil, lesser evil deadlock with Val later on in the movie, the dialogue was a beauty to listen to. And I haven't even begun to praise Toby Huss' Anthony Lamb character. I daresay he was the best part of this movie. Every scene he was in, he stole.

The dialogue carrying the movie for me, in no way, means the other parts were slouching. The action scenes entertained as well.

Copshop isn't a blockbuster but it's definitely a movie that's worth its runtime.

It entertained me well enough, although I didn't get to see some typical vampires' fight so the fight scenes sucked to me. The rest was okay
