This has been on my mind but didn't want to sound inhuman.
If it were to be only the labourers that are involved, you will see some useless condolence drama but one thing that is good about the whole is that almost all the major stakeholders in the fraudulent deal were involved.
How will they enjoy the mega profit the wanted to make by fraud now?

I hope other developers will learn from this!

The faithful souls do not need our prayers to see God! Those that died without truely and consciously submitting to christ actually needs the prayers of the church! I still blame Lagos State government officials. They could have prevented this but ... go to court. Take it up to the governor. No one man is bigger than justice.

All those who have taken bribes, cheated others in dealings and contributed to societal decay should all fall asleep, never to wake up again. Ameen. Because they also contributed to the downfall of Nigeria.

I agree with you on the accident happening now than after completion of the job it would have been a national tragic on a larger scale, but about the man dying in the collapse in my view he would have preferred to escape the mishap because this is naija....the lekki garden owner is he in prison?, the SCOAN incident has the case been concluded?......one thing I know is that karma exist.

A country where fake materials are openly displayed for sale and the seller will even be bold to tell you this one is fake and the other one is original...


What a shame of a country we live in. We all are a party to this failed system not the Nigerian Police only... Everyone of us are culpable.

Building collapse is not a new thing, even during the time of Jesus Christ such event occurred, for which he made a mention at Bible book of Luke chapter 13 verse 4 where 18 person died,. he spoke about their death in an illustrative way, for persons to repent from his or her evil ways before unforeseen circumstance occurred, read verse 5. NOT IS THE ACCEPTABLE TIME FOR TOMMOROW MAY NEVER BE.
In such circumstances one need not to speak evil towards any person who lost there life in such a catastrophic occurrence., from hardworking men and women who went out there to seek for their bread and butter to developers and investors.

oga this is a clear case of negligence and bypass of standards by the owner...i stopped by d scene 2day and heard journalist interview building professionals who stated that there are errors in materials used,aside dat did u see d letter of withdrawal of the associate contractors of d project who withdrew becoz d owner failed 2follow standards? Did u nt also read d place was sealed by government 2 avert dis disaster and d owner unsealed it bcoz he knws oga's @ d top....like i said nah innocent people wey die dey pain me.

Question is which truth did you see? The point we are making is let the truth be brought out before you condemn someone unable to defend himself.

Watch how the attribution of blames will heap on the man. The government finally got their aim. We’ll now hear how all his past projects were doomed from start, he could never satisfy his wife romantically and his many corrupt business dealings. I pity whoever he has left to defend him because at this point people want to hear anything tarnishing regarding his name, no form of redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I have been sad and at the same time furious over this incident since I heard about it. If the developer have followed due process, imagine the economy of scale on families, Lagos and Nigeria in general but right now we are witnessing an avoidable loss of lives and financial loss.

This is failure of governance. If there had been check and balances these could all be avoided. Someone or a group of people were obviously bribed to turn a blind eyes to what was going on.

I had hope against all hopes that the developer survived to see the consequences of his actions .

I watched one of Osibona's interviews and he said he wants to be the first person to build a 21st story building in Nigeria. He was a victim of his ambition. He was a victim of his ego. He was a victim of his dream. He didn't have enough to fulfill his ambition because if he has, that building wouldn't have come crashing.

When lives are on the line, your dreams, your ambition and your ego must always take the back seat.
