The hypocrisy of Nigerians is very annoying tbh.

As far as I'm concerned, that girl didn't do do any wrong! The dancing held in the female hostel and female hostels in most Nigerian universities are usually restricted to females especially at nights-- when the dancing took place. Again, she didn't dance stark naked but wore a jumpsuit.

Nigerians would not dissipate energy in fighting our corrupt public officials, fraudsters and the numerous security threats we have all over the country, instead they'll be mouthing off about flimsy things that harm no one.

Like I said Nigerians are hypocritical and Judgemental and it stinks to high heaven but when you live in Nigeria especially for young girls that are dependent it comes with a lot of heavy consequences.

For me what she did is not right but it shouldn't be blown out of proportion. I watch the video, she knew people were videoing the whole dance, she was been hailed, first she started with short skirt and took it up the notch by removing it and dance on bikini and cameras were everywhere. She should have known this will have spill effect. Like I said "ours" is just to say our mind, personally that video should just attract "strict caution" and people should move ahead but trust Nigerians, her Father is not having it good, the same thing with the girl, she will be taunted by Nigerians, she will be woo by charlatans in the name of being wayward, she will be judged by hooligans and even lowlifes just because she made public what others do in their closet and trust me her life will never be the same as long as she lives here, her best bet is to go away from the eyes of Nigerians for long and that's what she should have thought of before engaging in the dance, it would have been different if she is an "established and independent" lady but with her life still in formation enough Nigerians especially family members will keep nudging her. There's a reason Nigerians females lives double lives and hide most of their pasts because the society will always judge you. If what she wrote is something to go with why should her father lost contract because her daughter engaged in dance? That just prove exactly all I wrote up here.

Call a spade a spade before insulting Nigerians. As much as people like forcing certain behaviours, majority of Nigerians are conservative. As long as certain activities are done in private - no one will judge you.

This video and the subsequent interview by the girl shows poor judgement. In the name of popularity - she did these things. Of all things to do - it is to compete in a dancing contest that she was aware is recorded and she decided to twerk to win 30k. What did she think would happen? A recorded video nowadays is coming out on social media. Did she consider her family's honour and reputation before she did these things on video?

The reaction to have her father lose contracts is in my opinion too much but I wonder if any of them came with a good behaviour clause. It may be that the father wasn't performing and this was used as an opportunity to get rid.

In short for me - I wasn't aware of this entire situation till I saw this thread. I avoid watching certain things and I sincerely pray that my children and others do not show the lack of judgement or thinking this girl did.

In your own perspective,do you think what you did was right? If you have watched the video yourself, would you commend or condemn yourself? Ok,if your daughter does this,will you be happy? Your father has been spending money on you since you were born but you let him lose money in this harsh economy. Would he have lost that contract if you had not done that? Ask yourself these questions and judge yourself.
Some things are good if they are not done in the public while some things are are not good until done in the public.
