Anambra Election Results: Soludo In Early Lead, Wins 6 LGA Announced So Far by lalajnr(op): 6:47am On Nov 07, 2021

Early results have given preliminary victory to the All Progressives Grand Alliance in all six local government areas announced so far in the ongoing Anambra State governorship election.

The party’s candidate, Charles Soludo, had earlier been reported to have won his polling unit and ward by wide margin.

Mr Soludo has amassed the highest votes in Onitsha South, Awka South, Anaocha, Anambra East, Orumba South and Njikoka.

Anambra State has 21 local government areas and collation is expected to extend into Sunday.

There are 18 candidates contesting in the election. None of them is a woman, despite Anambra State being the only state to have had a female governor in Nigeria. Virginia Etiaba became governor in November 2006 after former Governor Peter Obi was impeached, but she handed over back to Mr Obi in February 2007 after an appeal court nullified the impeachment.

Soludo will NOT be a wonderful state Governor just as he wasn't a wonderful CBN Governor. People keep saying SOLUDO SOLUTION, and I wonder any unique solution he has ever offered.

Dr. Maduka is the person who has shown a long-term PASSION to better the lots of Anambra people. But, see how he was rejected - why Nigerians deserve bad leaders everywhere. Anyway, from Maduka's experience, I have learned to never worry when I have good intentions but I am rebuffed by myopic people. Na wah!

Politics is local, APGA is the major party in Anambra, but when it comes to a National contest, where APGA rarely contest, PDP will still dust APC in Igboland even if a Fulani man is on the ballot. Most South Easterners seem to have this obvious disdain for APC. grin

If APC wants to retain power, make dem delete South East from their permutations grin

This is politics, and anything can happen within seconds.

Having early lead doesn't guarantee winning in the long run.
Being declared winner doesn't mean being sworn-in (Duoye Diri of Bayelsa case comes to mind)
In fact, being sworn-in doesn't mean completing four years is sure (Akala of Oyo State and Fayose of Ekiti are examples)

And, lastly but most importantly,

Being declared winner doesn't mean that it won't be over ruled by a SUPREME COURT (Uzodinma and Ihedioha of Imo are case study)

To even cap it, the election continues today. And, from reports, about 30% of people have not casted their votes.
