Depends on what kind of visa. If it's immigrant or study visa..Japa. I am earning about 1.2m/month and I am emigrating to Canada in January 2022. Truth is; there r many reasons for my actions but I just want to live in a sane environment for few years of my life. Life is too short anyway. Will be back in naija by 2027, after obtaining my citizenship

So sad that our youths don't know what is best for them.
Those in Canada and the United States don't pluck money on trees there. Labour there is hard. 7 days a week. No social life plus racism and police harassment.
Trust God to prosper you here. Many are prospering and the idea of going oversea is strange to them.

I observed the graphics guy who made up this question is lacking in real life knowledge.
It's a very dumb question to compare Canada to a 250k job.
Not in Buharis economy where 250k is less than 500 usd.

Anybody that is willing to work hard and smart will prosper overseas, you might not be wealthy or known but you'll pay your bills, feed your family and possibly build up savings while enjoying greater quality healthcare, security etc.

Speaking about racism and police harassment, one can argue that Nigerian police, army, touts are more dangerous than majority of police harassment abroad. One can also argue that tribalism and bigotry is just as bad as racism. So the real question here should be, what is really best for the youth? A country that almost guarantees you have a better future or one that almost guarantees your dreams will slowly die?

Pls if any of us had this as an
opportunity pls try your best to get the visa, that doesn't mean you will live in Canada forever. Make your money then return to invest in your father's land.
I visited a school today, a public school tho, I was happy that I was welcome warmly by one of the teacher. I then asked the lady, hope she is enjoying her service what she told me was so disturbing to me.
She teaches the whole of the senior school (1-3) and a class is like 70 pupils.
A teacher taking such a class will be affected her mentally. My point is that when you work here in Nigeria they don't consider your well being. All they want is for you to work work work, many a times you don't even have time to enjoy your salary.

Don't jump into hasty conclusions bro.

If indeed you ever lived in Canada or the US, you'll know that this japa frenzy is more of a mirage than reality.

250k is small. But it's something for a young man to start from. Many young folks from here have been in and out of Canada with nothing to show. Their mates here who earn lesser have more assets than they do. Speaking from experience bro. We don't have to be emotive all the time.

Have you ever had an encounter with a typical Nigeria policeman? They will be like, Oga transfer the money or You will have to call a friend to transfer you money so you can be set free or get killed without no one knowing.

exactly. The first question for me is: visa to America or Canada to do what there? If I can know what I'll be doing, my kids won't learn bad habits or foreign mentality, I won't be racially profiled, then abroad is a better option because of how rotten this system here is. There is no justice in Nigeria that's the biggest problem. And there seems to be no head way out of this mess. Mediocres are everywhere occupying important positions.
