How soon is bolt going to rectify this issue?
Pick a trip around magodo phase1 on a 1.9 surge, map showed 36km for 1hr40mints,on getting to the destination at Kilimanjaro on admiralty way I found out that the trip has ended 30mintues ago. Even already offline, the trip is now showing price review. Card trip for that matter, so unable to take a kobo. Already mail them sha. But hope they will resolve it

Give them a call, I experienced same yesterday on a cash trip, from happyland sangotedo to Somolu 1.7x.

I ended ride and I was put offline automatically, checked the ride history and saw #0 with price review. I could not keep rider waiting, and she also sounded reasonable and understanding so I let her go.

I called Bolt CC and gave details of the trip, after 1hr review was completed (#11,100). I reached out to the rider and she paid without hesitation.

I noticed my car consumes more fuel. I figured it is not normal, so I went to my mechanic. After checking, he said they've removed the catalytic converter of the car and that's the reason for the excessive fuel consumption.

Where can I get one and for how much? He talked about fabrication at ladipo for 25 or 30k. Is this advisable or should I get another?

Good Afternoon to you all my senior men. Please I need your advice on Volvo S40/V40 or Nissan Tiida? Which of the two is a good choice for bolt/uber economically, durability and sustainability?
Any major problems or faults associated with both?
Please I need your advice. Both used but still neat

According to information, fabricated ones are not ideal for an engine. Na time bomb.
Either u get another one ( e suppose dey expensive) or u ask around about defouler(O2 spacer).
Ask Gazzuzz, depending on the code thrown upon scanning.
Start by scanning. If it is a P0420 code, which is notorious for catalytic converter.... I suggest u ask Gazzuzz for next thing to do.

Both should be gud... I guess v40 is a wagon( unless u wan dey carry load wella).
The question from me to u ..... How good are u in maintenance? Tolerance ratio of cars differ in maintenance.

U can drive a 2003-2006 Camry with bad suspension for months, but u can't try that with 2003-2007 Honda Accord.... Na weeks if not DAYS sef.
But if u are gud in maintenance, u are good to go.

Thanks. I just finished speaking with him on the phone. He said it's not the absence of the catalyst that is making my car consume fuel

Is there a feature that allows riders to end trip arbitrarily from their end on the Bolt app.?

If there is, it should be removed, cos it will be abused.

You see why it's good to seek professional advice, by the way I have said it here when this issue of catalyst came.
Catalyst isn't necessarily for fuel consumption but Nigerians will be made to believe that once your car consumes fuel it definitely have to be catalyst.

If the code is p0420 DM for the solution. No need getting another catalyst. I had same experience when I got my Corolla. The defouler with its follow come catalyst converter did the magic. I still have one for sale.

Where the problem will arise is bolt not notifying on driver app that trip had been cancelled.
Any update from rider on uber will make a beep and also bring the app to homescreen for the driver to see the update.

Safety is a naija issue currently, but to an extent, riders tend to perpetrate more crime on bolt than on Uber.
Uber also takes the issue of safety seriously, compared to Bolt. Uber is interested in the situation and would always want to hear your side of the story. They want to know a convenient time to put across a call to you, they show genuine interest most of the time.

Income on Uber with the "weekly ride target to get a reduced commission" helps a lot, as this improves your earnings and also motivates you to keep up the hustle.

Surge on Uber might not be as regular as on Bolt but when it comes, it's usually worth it, compared to Bolt that's pegged at 1.9 and calculation isn't transparent.

You can get a 2.4 multiplier on Uber and at the end of the trip, the breakdown is quite understandable.

Getting rides isn't as daunting as people make it sound. Riders are also usually well behaved. Chances of getting a toxic rider is slim. Rating is transparent and most riders know how to rate, being that the riders are more exposed and know how rating works, unlike some bolt riders that think 1star is the highest rating, thereby crashing a driver's rating, albeit unintentionally.

Etc... smiley

A. Safety
The most recent loss, where the driver ( fela shrine /abule egba) was gruesomely murdered was on the Uber app.

B. Surge/pricing
The surge calculation on Bolt is very accurate. Those that hv issues should check their phone. For instance, some guys ordered rides to take their girls on a treat. Three of us.( drivers, same bolt app)

Heading to Oniru Beach. Changed their mind to go to Alpha beach, they changed their mind again n resorted to a lounge in Phase 1.

We all ended trips at the lounge in phase 1. The two fares were similar. But the fare of the third guy was way too low, the guy was complaining... I felt for him.

But I checked his phone, it was one old palasa like that, I doubt the RAM will be up to 2GB. So it's not the app, but the device.

C. Welfare.
Don't tell me you fell for that corporate bullshit. grin, why won't they (Bolt and Uber) be interested in you.
You are one of the footsoldiers they use in raking millions of naira weekly. It's akin to saying you are interested in the welfare of birds you feed daily. Before nko.... sad

D. Trips.
This can't be contested, trips are easier to get on Bolt than Uber.

E. Riders.
Yeah, riders on Uber are well behaved than Bolt.

F. Earnings
Bolt drivers earn way more than Uber. The biggest Weekly dashboard I have ever seen of 350,000 naira (week of Xmas 2020) was on Bolt.
That's the MAIN reason why everybody is in this hustle... RABA grin, every other factor is of little or no significance.

Some people have argued about this on several occassions that absence of catalyst doesn't lead to high fuel consumption, catalyst only detoxicates the combustion products going to the environment from the car

Yes rider can end ride on bolt, and it will instantly reflect and display the price on the driver app, just like when driver ends it.

Is your check engine light on? If on, get it diagnosed and don't forget to run a data stream on the power train. Let's start from there?

My high mileage Camry threw a P0420 on me like 3 days ago, I noticed it was caused by low gas level, topped it and it disappeared on its own some hours later cool

Also, don't forget to post the scan results here for further suggestions grin

The fact that

The check engine was on before and the maintenance req was on. So I took it to my mechanic for service. After the service he called a guy that diagnosed it and the guy said they removed the catalyst but he later did something and the check engine and maintenance req wiped off. Later when I reported here, I called the mechanic to ask him if it was p0420 that showed, the guy said he can't remember, except I pay again for it.

Who can help me diagnose?
