Hi Nairalanders and guests. I have been a nairalander for quite some time and a regular guest before that. I haven't had much posts or comments on the forum, you could lump me into the category of forum ghosts or association of comment readers. However, I have noticed that some Nairalanders bring up news bits and articles that gather attention, bringing all the distinguished keyboard warriors to do battle and getting to the front page (some posts are better described as snaking their way to the front page courtesy of Lala).
I have seen other posts and judging by the stats underneath, you can tell that they have not attracted much readers. Hence my question: what makes an article tick on this forum? Can a nairaland newbie grab the spotlights on his first post? Must there be tribal controversy attached to the posts? And so on and so forth.
I would love you to drop a few tips or tell us what draws you to an article on nairaland, why you choose certain categories and if you follow certain Nairalanders for their articles.
On my part, I just read whatever I fancy and look for "Damn nigga" at the comments section. Slawormir is one hell of a philosopher and guy.

If you don't usually post then creating a front page topic would appear challenging. In my first month here I knew what to post and both hit front page immediately. After a while I got smarter than the collective thus my posts were deemed too intellectual for the minds here. Without practice i.e. commenting on the regular I don't see the point of such aim. Anyway, the two topics which made it for me were;

1. Ideas of what to do before gaining employment.
2. A new format used by scammers. I fell for this, don't be like me.

That damn nigger boy is poorly educated. His comments kill one's IQ. They are infantile and enjoyed by his peers. I remember reading a front page topic composed by two Nairalanders. Na there I know the hustle for visibility was competitive.

That is to say that the aim should be information dissemination. I went through your profile just now. Interesting things you have written over time.

Plot twist; it wasn’t this profile.
