I stand corrected. Still a tough task nonetheless
They need just 1-0
In Africa, it's an achievable result (they know how to get it done).

S/Africa will have all to play for even if it means defending with their lives. But the Ghana that played this afternoon, has nothing at all to play (e be like na Moses Simon full their squad).

Our Ghanian bredas, please position your calculators for permutations. Hoping Nigeria won't get to that stage ooo
We'll get there bro except CAR plays a draw with Cape Verde else we'd have all to play for like Ghana

Let's be honest.

If this was down to fans and judges, no Nigerian will make the starting eleven.

Our team hasn't been inspiring and its affecting the profile of our players in Africa

Not hating...I love Osimhen but do other Africans rate him highly?

I don't think you understand that list. It's an individual all 11. What has the performance of their national teams gotta do with it?

Now, if it was down to fans, it would be a biased and unmeritocratic list as all the positions will be filled by North African stars since their netizens are the most active on the continent. Not even Haller or other sub saharans would make it lol.

Mo Salah
Sadio Mane
Christopher Nkunku
Sebastian Haller
Idrissa Gueye
Achraf Hakimi
Yvess Bissouma
Pierre Erick Aubameyang
Riyad Mahrez
Hakim Ziyech

And I have not yet included the following:
Fouzi Ghoulam
Frank Kessie
Ismael Bennacer

Pease guys, try to sneak in a Nigerian or two in the above list. Let me get your thoughts.....

Insults are your prerogative but will be ignored as usual smiley

Imagine considering a player who has zero game time grin. That man has not even see the bench for Napoli this season grin

Osimhen and Ndidi would make the list without question.

yea when his tactics are wrong the players should work magic.. I no understand this your logic. If we should go by what your are saying coaches should sign life contracts.

Well, you have a point. And I agree.

If it was about Africa first 11, then Maybe Osimhen and Ndidi should make the first team barring any "Ojoro"

However, if CAF decides to release their top 10 list for CAF player of the year award today, then it would be very hard

Osimhen and Ndidi will not make CAF first 11. That's a fact. Midfield alone has Kessie and Gueye, not forgetting Bennacer and co. You can't leave any of these guys out for Ndidi (Bennacer was the best player last AFCON, Kessie rated as one of the best players overall in Serie A etc).

In attack, Osimhen has not done enough to be considered yet. If he continues in his current form until the end of the season, then we can have that conversation. Mane and Salah must be in the front three, and you can always fill in the last with Zaha, Auba, Mahrez, etc. Hell, even Slimani and Ziyech are rated higher than Osimhen in world football. The reason we celebrate Osimhen so much is that we see his potentials, what he could become in a few years if he is consistent.

The Senegalese attack without Mane is toothless. They rely heavily on him! Morocco and Algeria are the only teams that scare me.
Arabiandude:

Something I have come to noticed about a lot of Nigerians is that they are so negative in their thinking and anything that has to do with Nigeria to them is always bad. That's why these people always sees bad inside good when it concerns Nigeria.

Just look at Senegal with all the so called Reims, Metz and Ajaccio Superstars that are praised here currently losing to Togo but these same people over here will tell you with these players Senegal can even win the WC while Nigeria won't qualify

Sarr is good. Diatta too. Senegal have young strikers too, Habib Diallo was dragging highest goalscorer with Osimhen in Ligue 1 and he's young too. Boulaye Dia is doing it with Villarreal this season. Niang and Diagne are also decent back ups.

Where Senegal really edges us though is in defense. You have K2 who is a world class CB, along with Abdou Diallo competing in a star studded PSG side. Bouna Sarr is at Bayern, Kouyate is at Crystal Palace. Ballo-Toure who is one of the best young fullbacks in Serie A currently at RB. You then have the best goalkeeper in the world currently in goal. Complete backline.

My only problem with Senegal is their coach. The guy is disciplined, passionate etc, but he isn't tactically sound. It has been exposed multiple times, today for example. He is basically a younger version of Rohr tactically. If Senegal can get themselves a coach on the level of Belmadi tactically, they will enter top 10 globally in no time because the talents are there.

Besides, their players are not clearly better, they are just slightly better.
If Nigeria plays Sengal, anything may happen. Chidera Ejuke might dribble everybody and score or Chukwueze might do something fantastic and we win the match.
We are a tournament team that knows how to win when the chips are down but then, we also have a tactically weak
and defeatest coach who is not tactically sound, does not understand our footballing history, and does not believe in his players.
But i dont fear Sengal, camroon etc or any other African nation.
We are overall at par with them

Besides, football in general is funny. A player in the Turkish league might be better than a player
in the English league and so their players been better is subjective and situational.
The French assimiliate people from their colonies better and so their local players have better access to the
French league.
I know people dont beleive me but we rating a player by their league has limitations.
And then tactics and coaching is more important in football than we think.
Okay Burak Yilmaz spent all his carrer in Turkey but moved to lille in the French league in his 30's
and im sure he is better than many attackers in the English league or other top 5 leagues.
Anthony Nwakaeme is like Burak Yilmaz but i know you people wont see things my way. It is well

Since Rohr went back in time to pick a striker that plays in Saudi Arabia out of international retirement, I lost hope in the present handlers of the SE even if we erroneously qualify for the WC 2022, we CANNOT qualify from any group we find ourselves, we will only make up the numbers in Qatar.
So sad that NFF concurred to such barbaric decision to recall a 32 year old (whose real age is probably in the late 30s) with the yound upcoming strikers all over the world including the NPFL

For record sake, ndidi is currently rated as the best DM in Africa and one of the best in the world. Even transfermarket ranks ndidi twice the amount of gueye and slightly higher than kessie. The fact that you’re even suggesting that wingers (zaha) ziyech to be played as a CF ahead of osimehn let’s me know that you’re an slowpoke. Liberia vs Nigeria: Why Ighalo Should Start Ahead Of Osimhen On Saturday.
Praizz

Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo was called up to the Super Eagles for their last two World Cup qualifying games against Liberian and Cape Verde.

The 32-year-old striker announced his retirement from the National team after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where he was awarded the Golden Boot after scoring 5 goals in 7 games for the Super Eagles.

However, the former Premier League striker is currently plying his trade with Saudi Arabia club Al Shabab, and he has already scored 9 goals in 11 games for them so far this season.

Nevertheless, Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen stepped up and secured the number 9 spot in the Super Eagles team following Ighalo's retirement, and he has been doing extremely well in that position. And due to how good he has performed for the Super Eagles in recent years, fans would want him to start against Liberia ahead of Ighalo on Saturday.

But I suggest that it would be wise for Gernot Rohr to start Ighalo ahead of Osimhen on Saturday, and I have my reasons for saying this.

Why should Ighalo start ahead of Osimhen on Saturday?

1. Osimhen's recent injury scare: Osimhen suffered a muscle strain in training in October, that saw him miss Napoli's next two games against Salernitana in the Serie A and Legia Warszawa in the Europa League.

He then returned to action in Napoli's 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona where he played 87 minutes of the game. And I think it would be wise to rest him from the start on Saturday and later introduce him in the second half.

2: Ighalo's current form: Ighalo has been on a red hot form for Al Shabab this season, scoring 9 goals in 11 games. So it would be wise to start him in the game to allow him to continue with his good form in front of goals. He is also a big striker as far Super Eagles team is concerned, and as Gernot Rohr has decided to recall him from his retirement, it would be nice to start him as far he is in good shape/foam to start.

Photos: Google.
Ighalo has scored 16 goals in 35 games for the Super Eagles before his retirement, and it will be interesting to see him in action for the National team once again after 2 years
