From 25k to 36k to 44k to 58k. That's not even the real problem, the real problem is paying the money and not getting the meter several years later. Privatisation of power sector was a mistake that can't be corrected |

Lattop: musa234:Nigerians are not informed at all, always emotional all the time. Shame! "This government" didn't privatise power sector, Jonathan's government did. The money that consumers are paying for the meter doesn't go to FG but to the private electricity distribution companies (owned by the likes of Elemelu, Abdulsalam, Deji Adeleke and co). I remember FG rolling out free prepaid meters to consumers who are already on estimated billing, my landlady benefitted from it in April this year, free of charge. And I remember my landlady paying Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company for two prepaid meters few years ago but still unable to get her meters till date. When you all were encouraging Jonathan to sell power sector saying that government has no business being in business, didn't we warn you that you were making mistake? Enjoy your power sector privatisation, buddies. I could see stable power supply everywhere now. Lol |

We are not being educated enough by our news media, fg has stopped payments for meters by electricity consumers, the new prices of meters just released is for the cost per unit of meters fg is giving out to the discos for onward deployment to unmetered consumers under the phase 1 of the natonal mass metering programme commencing soon. Phase 1 is the second phase of the programme after the just concluded phase 0 where about 1 million meters were installed across the country. |
