But your family said, never; over their "dead bodies" will they go to Catholic Church for a wedding. Then, you asked your pastor, he told you that a woman must submit to your "spiritual" authority, implying that women have no spiritual authority that anyone will submit to.

And that was how everything scattered. Christianity that supposed to unite, in the name of denomination, is now dividing.

It is unfortunate that we are products of a fight that was not ours and a disagreement that should not have been allowed to linger on.

The gene is still in us today, we bear the name Christians, but still look at each other with innate hatred, the type that will cause two lovers never to hold hands upon discovering their denominations.

This division, this fight did not start today. For every church that breaks up, and any new pastor created, there is almost a corresponding hatred or a total cutting away from the mother church.

It gets so deep that if one wants to marry and discovers the person is from a certain denomination, they will want the person to follow them to theirs even against the person's will. It is like this: You love me, you admire my values, but you hate where the values were nurtured.

Who says I can't marry you and still go to my church?

But the truth is, all these divisions we have today were not supposed to be so in the first place, assuming the center of our worship is Christ and not about individual charisma or gifts.

It is this "I am for Apollos" or "I am for Paul" that is making us to erroneously push the different 'Apollos' of today that are parading as powerful prophets, to go found churches so that we can be their followers. This was exactly what Paul was against in 1Cor 1:12 and 1 Cor 3:4.

Unfortunately, we have gotten ourselves here, it is so sad that we are stuck. . . It is really a mtchwwwwwww situation.

These is what religion have turned all of us to. Imagine a building of 10 rooms apartment occupied by 10 Christian denominations e.g deeper life, Jehovah witness, celestial, rccg, Aladura, mountain of fire etc.

What's the point being with someone you don't share same faith, beliefs and doctrines with?

If tomorrow there's a challenge and you choose to use simple prayers to address it and he says you must use fetish approach ( like burning of color candles and breaking of coconut). What will you do?
Thats how misunderstanding and religious clashes start in the home and before you know it, the home is divided with everybody doing their thing separately.

The Bible already warns " be not unequally yoked".

Yess, it happened to my elder sister. She could not agree to switch from Pentecostal to Catholic, and the marriage was cancelled. This is after doing introductions. Today she is happily married to a different man.
