Report to the nearest police station in case they want to prove smart later.
Firstly they don't want you to go you forcefully resigned they meant want to set you up. Be one step ahead of them. God be with you and grant you wisdom bro.

I created a thread a while ago that a company didn't accept my resignation. See initial thread

https://www.nairaland.com/6802980/company-didnt-accept-resignation

In that thread, I wrote about how I dropped resignation letter but the company kept mum until I left without making plans for handing over. I said that their 5k was left with me which they didn't say anything about and that my pension was never remitted. Now I don't care about the pension but I think they are trying to set me up.

Their 5k was initially left with me but they still sent the following month estacode to me, after I had left the company. I contacted the accountant that their 5k was left with me and they still sent a new month estacode of 10k to me. I asked him to provide the company's account number and I sent the money to the account which the company confirmed. They said nothing about pension but I don't care because I worked with them for just about 3 years.

After this, my phone was stolen and lost all contacts and details saved on my phone. Just two days ago, I checked my online accounts and email with someone's phone and I saw credit alert of November estacode from the company again. Now if I want to refund the money, what's in my account is no longer up to 10k because the account is on RED. I no longer live in that city and will need to connect with coworkers on Facebook to get accountant's phone number. I live from hand to mouth now and will need enough time to gather money to refund the money upon getting accountant's number.

This company may be trying to set me up... Should I report to the police before they will use same police to harass me? Should it be police PCRU or police in my current town?

Please, I will read replies later because it's not my phone I used to log in. Thanks!
Why not call the company account and ask why this is happening? Or don’t they update their files??

Let him know u’ve returned the money b4 which he acknowledged bt he should try to stop the error of sending ur paychecks since u no longer with them.

In any case u will make the refunds when u sort out ur finances. How much are u owing them now?

I think it’s an error not a set up.

The law is clear. Once an employee resigns, he has resigned.

Was the resignation letter acknowledged?

If yes, you have no issue. Just do this;

Wait for 6 months. After 6 months, apply to your pension office directly and request for 25% of your RSA. You have the legal right. Submit all necessary documents and watch as the accountant will quickly remit the balance of your unpaid pension with magic.

Many years ago, I worked for one useless bank in Nigeria. I resigned and letter was received but not acknowledged . Few years later, i needed the acknowledgment for another stuff and requested from the bank. I got a mail that they wont issue the acknowledgment because some of the loans i worked on went bad and i have to help on recovery.

I simply responded telling them i have no issue with that but they should credit my account with unpaid salaries for the few years since they still want to treat me as staff. I got the acknowledgment via mail and via DHL sharp sharp.
Odogwu you bad grin

From your write up, you’ve notified them of such payment and did a refund. If they continue to remit to you then it’s not your fault..It’s not a set up.Watch and pray…..until the payment stops, flex on…..
Re: Re: A Company Didn't Accept My Resignation by Carparts888(m): 1:18pm On Nov 15, 2021
nice advice
Shukusheka:
Send an email to HR copying the accountant, notifying them once again of your resignation (attach resignation letter). Also request in the email for account number for the refund of the estacode they had paid to you. If they acknowledge receiving the email, that's perfect. If they do not respond, write a letter and physically deliver it to your former office and have the letter stamped and acknowledged. If after this they still keep sending estacodes to you, just invest the money into a mutual fund account every month. Whenever the company comes to their senses, you negotiate for the payment of your pension from the estacode money they sent to you, use the accrued interest from the mutual fund to engage a lawyer. grin

Sorry for what you have passed through. It must be a toxic place then. Before you resign, you would be expected to handover your job and give sometime as agree in the employment letter, usually a month. If you did all these and you didnt hear from them but you keep receiving salary, send a formal email to the company's HR and account department informing them that you have resigned and they should stop paying you.
If it continues, move on with you life and next job, just try not to eat their money cos they will come for it. They assume you are suffering and feel thy can trap you with their peanuts.

Be wise and move on. There a lot you can do

Just send a mail to the accountant and remind him if the message you have sent to him earlier
That's just an evidence that you complained to him but he took no action

Get a lawyer to write them a letter on your behalf.
Re: Re: A Company Didn't Accept My Resignation by xangerar: 2:36pm On Nov 15, 2021
It is essential you write to them formally addressing these issues. If you cannot afford a lawyer, write them yourself and ensure you obtain an acknowledgement for it.

Note: Do not treat this as trivial. I repeat, do not treat this as trivial. Do not continue to let the money into your account without adequate repositioning. It might not be a clear cut set up, but it would be a set up by default in a short while. Do not permit it.

Again, you may address the issue of your pension of you please, but do not succumb to those who submit that since they have your pension, you can have this in peace. I give you free legal advise, no you cannot when the chicken comes home to roost.

Treat seriously.

Seeeker, send them an email. How much is your pension? Maybe your estacode has been converted to pension.
Re: Re: A Company Didn't Accept My Resignation by AdeMoss: 6:44pm On Nov 15, 2021
Report to your Bank that you are not aware of that transaction, not expecting the funds and it should be reversed. That assists you with documenting the issue.
