A Company Didn't Accept My Resignation by Seeeker(m): 10:15pm On Oct 14
I don't know what to call this... I tendered a resignation letter with 3 weeks notice despite that no notice clause is contained in my appointment letter.

They just collected the letter and said nothing. When the resignation became effective, I left the company and they still didn't tell me anything about handing over to someone else as is the practice there in case of sack.

It's been a month I left and they still didn't contact me about handing over. My concern is that they didn't remit a Kobo into my pension account. Why I'm expecting them to ask me to hand over is that I have in my custody about 5k belonging to the company. I didn't borrow the money. It was kind of something left in my care.

So, if they later ask me to come and do proper handing over, should I ask them about my pension? Some people sacked in the past said their pension was not remitted too.

Please move on. As they didn't care, you too don't care.

If truly care they would have included the notice clause in your appointment letter.

Some companies just pay pension of staff whenever they want to renew their Pencom's certificate.

The pension companies nko, will tell you you can't be paid until a certain age(retirement age) or after maybe 6 months or a year if you don't get a new job.

Most conditions of service state 30days notice in the case of resignation, you said yours is 3 weeks, were you paid for that month? If "yes", you have a right to request for your pension contribution for that month

I see the company chaining you down and calling their pastor to pray for you (coz they think village people are after your destiny)

I see them conducting deliverance on you while pouring anointing oil and holy water on you

I see you maintaining your stand to leave the company

I see you being flogged with a holy cane by a false prophet

These I have seen

Simply contact your lawyer to contact the company, that's the only time they would be serious about it...

Return the money first. Then Mail them about the non-remittance of your pension.

If they do not reply your mail, call the HR.

Some bosses act like petulant children when it comes to staff resigning. Once you tell them you’re leaving they begin to treat you like you’ve offended them and some would even bear a grudge.

Why no keep quiet if you have nothing to contribute to the topic Mr boy?
And let responsible people contribute?
Why are some of you like this on this forum sef?
Why Why Why

Meanwhile,
Why I'm expecting them to ask me to hand over is that I have in my custody about 5k belonging to the company. I didn't borrow the money. It was kind of something left in my care.
To start with,
Do you mean 5000 US DOLLARS or you mean you have in your custody 12 DOLLARS equivalent to 5000 Naira
Don't tell us you are using such big, strong, colossal, gigantic and powerful word CUSTODY for 12 Dollars! cool
Answer this and let us know how to advice you!

Seeeker:

5k naira.
Like seriously
Okay follow the below post advice.
Same thing we wanted to type.
We Rise!
jaasiel:
You are expected to return all the companies assets in your possession ID Card, access card, etc, including the N5K.
The Handover note is optional but for future reference sake you may want to that.
Your salary has been stopped so also your pension remittances with immediate effect.
Everybody go dey alrite las,las

You took their 5k with you and you know you were supposed to hand over, just because they didn't ask you. Now, they did their own by not remitting your pension, you begin write epistle.

Do you know if they're trying to get back at you?
If you had done the right thing, it would have been easier to advise you and judge the matter straight. But now, even me, I can't say much because you have their property with you.

Convert the 5k to your remittance for this month and see what happens by next month.

Your matter na inconclusive... If they refuse to do proper handling over with you... How about u hand over thier 5k back and make it known to them you don't ve any of their property in Ur possession anymore that u ve moved on...see if any topic will be raised.. U can't just leave with thier 5k na or u wan make dem come back after 5 years claiming interest untop d 5k
