OP,
You need to make more money. As in real money. The kind of money that stops nonsense. All you need is freelance work that gives you $2000 minimum a month. All the nonsense will stop.

Women (especially wives) need men they can look up to, not look at or look down on. People have tastes. When a woman marries, she expects her husband to elevate her status, not send her below where she is coming from. If your wife says she cannot cook with kerosene, please do not make her go back there. Make sure you can provide gas for the house COME WHAT MAY. If you were earning in dollars, it will stop all domestic nonsense.

My wife knows that even if gas is sold at N100,000 a cylinder, I am highly capable of it by the special grace of the almighty God. She boasts about me constantly before her family. During lockdown, she was in another country for some time before I was able to get back to her. I was paying all her expenses in foreign currency with no shaking. Such things bring you heavy respect. It just comes naturally. You don't force it out.

It takes a man to know his God to the extent where God will place you above economic circumstances, without stress. The problem is, how many men can bring out time to have that critical discussion with God that produces a change of destiny?
The last part of your statement is explosive. The question dey make me dey think

And I am very very angry. Gas I used to buy 2800, then 3k, 4k, and 5k. Suddenly it jumped to 7500 and now (today) 9250 in Port Harcourt. I am very very angry. Let no one here disturb me with nonsense news about Buhari and his nonsense South Africa Trade fair and nonsense. No cross me today o. I fit beat person

The gas finished yesterday. I told my wife that yesterday that I will buy the gas today because I needed to get to work and somehow raise money to augment what I have to be able to buy the gas. I told her to use the kerosene stove that yesterday and this morning. Guess her reply? She said she can't use kerosene even for a day. That even her Mum in the village does not use kerosene stove. She said a few other unprintable things.
For the sake of my 3 children I still had to buy the gas today.

I had not eaten in my house for a month now. The reason is that she said that they money I gave her for upkeep in October was not enough (I give her 62.5% of my monthly salary every month for our home upkeep). As a result she refused to give me food from around the middle of the month when she said the money had finished. She cooked for herself and the children (possibly from her own salary). When I gave her upkeep money for this month I told her not bother keeping food for me so that the money will go far enough. That's where we are till now. I have no intention of ever eating her food until she acknowledges that she was wrong and apologizes.

Now I know this WON'T happen. She will rather die than admit she's wrong or apologize. This is why I know that the mistake of a marriage is heading for the rocks and I am ready for it. Nonsense and ingredients. I have endured this nonsense for 15 years. I am done. Anything whe won happen tomorrow, make e happen today.

What on earth will be her reason for agreeing not to be giving her husband food daily? Even if the portion is small the whole family should manage it.

If she is working she should be augmenting what he can provide.

Op should channel this frustration into making more money to ease off the pressure.
OGA is yet to tell us what he actually did. No woman would stop giving her husband food for no reason.

I couldn't vote. I wanted to vote Jonathan. I stood in long queues for hours for several days trying to get my PVC. I still couldn't. Many people didn't get theirs. Meanwhile small northern boys who do scrap metal business near my place were receiving calls from their friends and relatives in the North to come and collect their PVC's which the said relatives have collected from INEC. I, a grown man, could not get mine in the South. In the North, small boys were being begged to collect theirs. INEC officers went from house to house to deliver voters card to people, including relatives of actual owners of the cards in the north. Prof Jega dealt with the south. He disenfranchised us and gave Mr Buhari victory
Hahaha grin

So people actually reason this way.

No matter what.... Your wife is never supposed to starve you.
Whether you give her money for the home front or not...but for the fact that she stylishly or magically cooked at all.... Your dish must be served.
Secondly, for the fact that she ate and the kids eat... You must have your portion.

Like I always ask on other streets... Who's raising this generation of nonsense? Where did we go wrong? What later happened? How did we get here?
No conscience. No moral. No values. Empathy gone.

What's really going on?

I don't know what really happened, but as I was reading story, water just dripped out of my eyes.

Bro, pls, for the sake of God, just continue to be the man u have been, all these shall pass one day.

The harsh economy is making many people act seemingly mean. This is the time one needs their spouses to be understanding, but if u are not blessed with such a woman, just try to navigate and see how u manage the situation.

I really pity men who have large families without viable source($) of income. Me as a single man, I know how I am managing to survive this period.

God will see us through.

I understand your situation as a Pharmacist. Please start looking for alternative, check online for qualifying exams to developed countries like Australia, Canada etc
misterme:
You are funny sir. You can't fathom how a man will set aside 62.5% of his monthly income for house keeping alone. Your error lies in the fact that you assume all Nigerians earn huge salaries. No, we all don't.

Let me create a scenario for you. Imagine you had a good job 16 years ago. You worked in the pharmaceutical marketing industry. You earned decent salary. You also had a legitimate way to make extra income while in the field. You had an official car. You met a beautiful young lady in one church program. One thing led to another and 3 years later you two were married.

Less than 2 months after, you realize you have made the greatest mistake of your life. You realize that the person you thought you knew is totally different from the person now living in your house as your wife. Within the first few months of the marriage she ran away a number of times from your house for several days. The marriage almost ended even before the end of the first year of the marriage. The reasons were so flimsy. In fact on one occasion she said she's done with the marriage because I gave my little cousin a small phone of 4k without telling. Note that she was in school then in the North and I was in a city in the South East. I visited my uncle (who mostly trained me in the Uni). His last daughter lost her phone. I just reached out and gave her my second phone after removing my sim. About an hour later my wife called me on that line but couldn't reach me. She later called on my main line. I told I gave my cousin my 4k phone. She was so angry she said she's no longer marrying.

Today I seriously regret not insisting on ending the marriage as she wanted it.

I can go on and on. Catalog of woes for these 15 years. There were some (though few moments) of happiness. That's why we have 3 children.

When Buhari came to power, my company downsized. I was redeployed to where I couldn't work because it will involve telling lies everyday literally. I had some side hustle then. I decided to resign instead of positioning myself for life of lies.
Perhaps that was a mistake. I tried but couldn't get another job. Either the companies needed younger persons or the needed some with MBA in marketing. Both conditions were not in my favour. I only have B.Pharm. I also lost a lot of money on forex trading. I was compelled to take up employment as a superintendent pharmacist in a Community Pharmacy. Ask any pharmacist you know how much community pharmacists who are not owners of the business earn.

You ask how I pay rent and school fees? As a Superintendent Pharmacist I get paid a reasonable amount every January when I preregister the Pharmacy and renew the operational license. This amount takes care of schools for 2nd term and rent. First term and third term schools fees are always a struggle. But God has been faithful, working a number of miracles for us including using family members to help. This is how I have been managing for about 6 years now. My goal is to set up my own Pharmacy early next year. I have been able to get some people to commit to financing it.

I don't have to tell you all these but I am in the mood to write today. Besides it helps to ease the pain the heart.

Everything I wrote earlier is the truth. Forgive the typo errors. I was walking to the Pharmacy where I work when I modified the message and typed the second part of the write. Hence the errors

-I’m not even funny, many young brothers have lost their lives as a result of nagging and evil wives- current research shows that after controlling other variables, husbands die 10 years earlier than their wives. That must change in this 21st century, if young men will listen and stop being naive and deceived by this love nonsense and monogamy of western ideologies.

-Having said that, the OP needs assistance but he must agree to up the stakes by getting a second wife as a competition for the first. What he doesn’t realise is that his supposed wife already has a competition for him. Therefore, for equity, he needs a second wife who is hardworking and not a leech- but he must be honest with her with respect to what he wants- peace and a supportive partner.

-Finally, good women needs to be making their moves on brothers here online and offline, otherwise bad women will keep destroying our men and society. Period!
