lovewins:But that's not the work of the national team coach to do ![]() Players domiciled in Europe are exposed to world best academics, training facilities etc so u can't compare them to what obtainable in the NPFL Yes we have lots of raw talents in Nigeria academics but they need to discover, groom and harness them into cadet teams there after the national team coaches can pick the best amongst the lots after some years |

yinkeys:Bro...no thing like quota system For sometime now home based players given the opportunity to play always use the privilege of 2 or 3 caps to whisk to obscure leagues abroad. So bro, what the national team needs is a standing under 23, 20 and under 17 teams that will always be engaged and as well make way for gradual progression. So stop this quota based practises, the best where ever they play should be called and played. The CHAN is there for the Home based eagles to use project themselves to the national team coaches and the world |

charlesemeka85:Don't be surprised dude is one of those players in NPFL. They NPFL have the CHAN competition to explore and launch themselves for better things and also progression upwards into the super eagles |

humility33:You will do same if you were in their shoes So long they perform well when they wear the jersey I see no wrong in that. Why are people supporting a lazy coach Oh well let’s give him one more chance at the nations cup Did you watch the Cape Verde game? I jus dey laugh |

do4luv14:We need an ambitious coach bro Someone who is hungry and at least a trophy in his cabinet not too much to ask for Forgiveness wasn't ridiculing him just saying the super eagles need an ambitious coach at this team |

charlesemeka85:I didn't respond to you initially because you'll rather include personalities in your discourse instead of restricting your contributions to your opposing views. However since you quoted me twice, I'll respond. First it's ridiculous to think that playing in Europe is the primary metric for success in football. While I agree that playing in a top league helps for exposure, advanced technical practices amongst others, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the only metric for success. The fact that we have a disfunctional league in Nigeria doesn't take away from the myriads of talent we have here. A good coach is able to surgically blend our players in Europe with the very best that we have down here, cause we do. There are players currently plying their trade in the NPL that are better than many in the English premier League. Sometimes it's really not about how good you are, it's about time and chance. Truth is we'll never get to see many good players simply because they never got the chance, it doesn't mean those who play in Europe are better. This doesn't just apply to football, it applies to every vocation you can think of. There's hardly any hospital in th UK for instance where you don't see a Nigerian doctor or nurse, the paradox however is 95% of them got trained here. Dead that funny narrative that only players on Europe are deserving of the national team call up |

yinkeys:U talk as if u know me so well Never u generalise or assume someone who dont know his drive or goals More so I want rohr out but your premise or argument for reserve quota for home based players is flawed in my opinion.... even the quota system will be used to call up a player that happens to be boys of the NFF vultures not even the best. The NPFL players should utilise the CHAN competition well to launch themselves |

charlesemeka85:That is momentary result. Not an aim of a national team. A national team needs to keep building to form a world class team. Even after that the work does not stop. You are talking about selection. Westerhof was about building the best team in the World. That is why at that time we could compete with any team and by 1996 we could go as far as matching top teams in okay. |

humility33:I am not even making a case for development here. The job of a national team coach is to get the best team possible for the super eagles however possible. If it means exploring options in Nigeria, then he has to. I agree that Europe has better pitches and training facilities just the same way they have better schools and laboratories, it doesn't automatically mean that training in Europe is the only metric for success. I'll never subscribe to the "it has to be white to be right" thinking. |

humility33:It’s true I totally forgot about the corrupt angle lol You’re right about NFF I agree with most of what you put down In Keshi’s time, I heard he was 100% in charge of the team. He had disagreements with NFF which lead to his sack. I don’t think his sack was based on performance In summary, let’s see European based Eagles performance in January What do you think about Herve Renard the Saudi coach ? I doubt nff will be able to pay such His salary would probably be double that of Rohr’s |

humility33: anybody that watched that mexico friendly and think our league has carpenters that could displace anyone in the current national team Squad is a clown league wey know get resume date or even proper structure South gate doesn't even have a single player he scouted or groomed but he goes to watch every single important matches of the week to see players that fits his style of play and can do well even with the pool of talent's available in the epl big team's he still picks Aston villa and leed's player's doing well can our national team coach go pick a player in the Npfl that isn't even in action currently ![]() |

lovewins:Europe is filled with average players ,so Na our Nigerian league ekuke players better pass out European based players ? Brazil league is one of the best league in the world outside Europe ,but they still call more players from Europe than their league because most of their European players are better then the ones in their league |

yinkeys:take a look at the country as a whole and tell me what we have gained with quota system. Quota system is just a way to promote mediocrity. The few home based players Rohr invited, immediately that get to play a couple of minutes they are off to some obscure league, do you want the coach to drop them since they aren’t local based anymore and pick another set of players? Is that a way to build a team? Besides, the ones keshi used what have the Supereagles or the NPFL gained? Please name one of the home based player that keshi used and you think still deserve a bit of playing time |
