It is not the oil exploration that causes it.

If you aren't knowledgeable about a subject matter, you can keep quiet and learn.

The problem emanates from the illegal refineries.

I know the last thing you want to do is admit it, but it is what it is.

I highlighted earlier legal and illegal exploration.
But what exactly is Your point?
my question to you is do you think legal exploration has no effect on the environment?

Quite minimal.

There are global best practice operations which major oil companies of the world adhere to.

Please don't even attempt to claim they don't in Nigeria because they do.

Don't attempt to sidetrack from the real issue - illegal refineries.

Quite minimal compared to illegal exploration that's the response, not just quite minimal.

I don't know if IOCs in Nigeria adhere to global practices since there are numerous petitions against them by indigenes of various oil communities.

All sides are responsible, legal illegal and the indigenes

It's so sad wats happening in my beloved state crywe can't blame only the government knowing fully well the level of illegal bunkery going on in the state,
Apart from that, the various Shell and Agip gas plants everywhere and thousands of flow stations contribute more to this. I have a house close to a Shell gas plant and the black sooth that settle on my car is something else. Not to talk of de one that enter the house.

You don't know because you've never worked in oil and gas.

Exactly why I said you should stick to areas you are knowledgeable about.

I'm saying gas provides high combustion which means very little carbon.

You imagine the amount of heavy metal on the foods that grow in that godforsaken land. It's a highly toxic and carcinogenic atmosphere, and that is why the life expectancy there is below fifty years or thereabout.

It’s a sad case and yet we’ll survive. I’ve reached birthing age and it’s my future children I fear for. This isn’t the government’s doing but the average man’s. Their excuse is oil exploration killed riverine life so they’ve engaged in the act illegally to feed their families. What happened to creating personal fish ponds? Destruction is the only means of livelihood which comes natural to Nigerians.

Very little? Bros come and see the black smoke that goes up. It's not as much as oil's but it's not good for humans to be continually inhaling such.

What is going on there is a crime against humanity. The people are being slowly exterminated with their own natural resources. And Africans in general are heading towards mass extinction because of a lack of fundamental knowledge.

It's a normal result

Trekking is normal but using car is better. Why don't we do away with cars and continue Trekking?

The black sooth is real and we inhale it cry

Just try and calculate the number of years being deducted in each individual inhaling the sooth.

Illegal oilrefining activities is the real cause of this.

This is cutting the life span of people in that area.

They are giving up good health for profit.
Very short sighted practice
