Sorry, it's actually King Ibanichuka.

He was deported by the British because he was hostile to European missionaries around 1896.

He was also probably part of the Okrika elder who provided the information to this other document will upload.
So, an Igbo, by the name Mmadu, founded Opobo town. Read from your pasted link above.

Africans rely on oral history which gets adulterated and unreliable over time. With documented history, you are more likely to have your historical facts preserved. Bonny, Benin, Lagos and Calabar are parts of southern Nigeria with the most documented history.

Anyone outrightly claiming Bonny and Opobo as ijaw territory is absolutely ignorant. A lost of revisionism has taken place and is still going on, so much that even people that originated from these places are confused about their origin.

I have heard people talk about acculturation of Jaja of Opobo into ijaw culture whatever that means.
Language is one of the basic indentifier of peoples origin and the pertinent questions is how come most of these people speak igbo if they are not igbos?

I would do a write up when I return to base with hard-coded historical facts on the true identity of the Bonny and Opobo people. Rich history to the tiniest detail.

Meanwhile, I will like to challenge any interested person to a live debate on the identity of Bonny and Opobo people.

This conversation about majority of Rivers being Igbos will go on forever even if it keeps being denied and lied about. The main reason why this conversation will go on forever is because some people with land grabbing drunkards and their allies amongst the Rivers Igbos who are individuals with inferiority complex are trying to hide the truth but you cant hide the truth forever, the truth must come out one day

Don't get it twisted son there are no igbos in Rivers State not even a single soul. What we have are land grabbing criminals from red mud enclave who are trying their best to steal other people's land.

The good thing I like most about all these threads being opened about the Ijaws is that they are all online noise.
The matter ends here.
I am from Opobo and Bonny is motherland.
We are proudly Ijaws and there is nothing anyone from far away Anambra or Enugu or Abia close by can do concerning our lands.
Normal online rants.

So, like I always say, keep the threads coming, it's comic relief.
Those of you saying Opobo n Bonny is Ibo land come to Bonny lemme show you your forefathers in chains.

Always ask or find out, what were the names of King Jajas children.
Jaja didn't name his children Ibo, why??

Which paragraph? Is it of the second page I uploaded? If so, yes I did. It's an over 400 page research done by an Obolo man detailing the history of the Obolos. He wrote the various connections and history Obolos share with their neighbours. He quoted lots of sources including the field work he did to make his work one of the best references.
In one of the numerous wars fought between Bonny and Obolos, one of the men that led the Bonny soldiers was named 'Okunnaya'. He died in that war.
There are many things I've discovered so far between Bonny and Ndoki. The relationship is more cordial than any that Bonny shares with either New Calabar or Opobo.
A lot of history was really altered to suit the narrative of the Ijaws.

Genocide is not out of place. A guy from Bonny, I will try to invite him to this discussion, actually told me that Adaka Boro and the federal troupes invaded Bonny and Opobo and ransacked the palace where so much history was kept. They were too small to put up a defence. You know there is nothing more devastating them have fights from the inside during a war... They killed and the other ones left and the chiefs dare not talk about Igbos during the war and even after because of how the Ijaw led River state ruled with an iron hand.
I will probably not take that out of the equation. I think the Ekepeye boy here, Nextdoor84 bear similar sentiments.
You are right. The atrocities the Ijaws committed in collaboration with the federal forces are too numerous to mention! The evidence of their crime is everywhere in our communities, but our people are too scared to
speak up. But time will tell.

Well, I believe a lot of things happened though and the last event could have had a more lasting effect to what made okrika what it is.

I believe you can find the answer to the Okirika (Krike as wrirten in older documents) story by looking at New Calabar.
I believe it had a very multiethnic influence. I personally do not believe that Igbos or Ijaws alone or together influenced the place. Each village or quarter seem to have a different history If you look well, that place seem to be meeting point of Igboids, Ijoids and Ibiobiods (Cross River) people.

That's why the language itself, although somewhat Ijoid, is not mutually intelligible with Ijaw.

The "riverine" area is an interesting area. Elemee for instance, do not submit to the Ogoni tag because some of them are actually without doubt Igbo (Arochukwu to be specific) Before the civil war, they were called Mboli (Another city/second city) even by themselves and even on the records. Arochukwu people migrated and made that place a second home or even a mini colony. Till today, many of them bear Arochukwu names. The names and imprints are there... they altered the language to a bit but did not change the main language ultimately.

It was interesting to note that Ekpeye call God, "ubini ukpabi" (That 100% is the Aro god) Only Aros refer to any god/diety as "Ubini Ukpabi", although Aros also use Chiokike Abiama/Chukukwu Okike Abiama. Some portions of Ikwerre too were highly influenced by Aros and they still have their quarters.

However Aros did not completely change anyone's language, they rather adapt to the language of any place they settled.

I believe the Aros had a strong influence on all those areas.

I will mention Eastlink (Egbema) and Nextdoor84 (Ekpeye). They are the two Igbos in River state, they will know better and dispute or collaborate what I have written.
You are 100% spot on. I will advice you to stop replying those Ijaw dic***kheads. They are more or less slaves in rivers state now. Take it to the bank, they will never smell the brick house. There are no Real ijaws in rivers state. What we have here now are political Ijaws! If you are looking for an ijaw man. Please proceed to Bayelsa state( southern ijaw precisely). Enough said!!!

I'm researching on the dual language spread in Bonny. I've not gotten much but it would seem in Bonny's heydays the Kingdom expanded into Kalabari territory to the west through war and greater influence. This may account for a more pronounced "Ibani" presence there today.

However, the cause of the friction today is not whether the Bonny kingdom expanded into Kalabari or not. The issue is Izon people using the Kalabari to manipulate the Igbo founders of Bonny into dropping their Igbo identity through state politics during and after the war and up to this moment.

Both the Kalabari Ibani people and the Izon in Bayelsa know quite well the Bonny area was founded and governed by the Ndoki subtribe of the Igbo nation before Bonny expanded into their side. Hence they can't claim Bonny confidently so they go through the kingship, fabricating Perekule and all that gibberish.

The problem now is the language. The Ibani there call Igbo bush language and Igbo in the hinterland bush people. Well, technically we are "bush" people thanks to the dense rain forest we were blessed with by Chukwunna. They can't seem to eliminate the bush language and it has remained a bone in their throats.
How far with your stupid researchhuh

The aminadokiari people are kolokuma people but lost their language because of the proximity to NGWA land.

NGWALAND are rivals to the ibibio/akpa people whom use to own Aro and the Eastern part of Abia state to present day akwa/cross whom they(NGWA'S) tag ndi'ohuhu in the olden days.

The NGWAs use the aminadokiari-bonny trading route while the IBIBIO/AKPA used the Elem-kalabari route to export slaves and palm oil. The rivalry still was there in those days and the Bonny people for ONE of the THREE major reasons refused to let the slaves learn the ibani dialect because they didnt want the freed slaves to sell battle secrets/strategies or informations to their rivals (kalabari)
The two other reasons were; *ibani was seen as sacred and wasn't fit for slaves to speak just as slaves or former slaves weren't allowed to sit on the throne.
* To gain upper hands in transactions whenever they battered at the center of commerce "ndoki/imo river" because the ngwas were known to be crafty business people. Even till today, the NGWAs like to show craftiness (the slangs in Abia state is "ikpo-brain"wink
