Africans rely on oral history which gets adulterated and unreliable over time. With documented history, you are more likely to have your historical facts preserved. Bonny, Benin, Lagos and Calabar are parts of southern Nigeria with the most documented history. Anyone outrightly claiming Bonny and Opobo as ijaw territory is absolutely ignorant. A lost of revisionism has taken place and is still going on, so much that even people that originated from these places are confused about their origin. I have heard people talk about acculturation of Jaja of Opobo into ijaw culture whatever that means. Language is one of the basic indentifier of peoples origin and the pertinent questions is how come most of these people speak igbo if they are not igbos? I would do a write up when I return to base with hard-coded historical facts on the true identity of the Bonny and Opobo people. Rich history to the tiniest detail. Meanwhile, I will like to challenge any interested person to a live debate on the identity of Bonny and Opobo people. |

[s] Kinematics:[/s] Dirty frustrated port Harcourt slum dweller, you know you dare not face me or I will deal with you. I am from Rivers state but truth be told Rivers state is a cursed polluted shithole littered with slums and shanties. Anambra doesn't have slum nor shanties.

This conversation about majority of Rivers being Igbos will go on forever even if it keeps being denied and lied about. The main reason why this conversation will go on forever is because some people with land grabbing drunkards and their allies amongst the Rivers Igbos who are individuals with inferiority complex are trying to hide the truth but you cant hide the truth forever, the truth must come out one day |
| Re: Igbo And Ibani Language In Bonny by SaintBishop: 7:56am On Nov 28, 2021 |
ThumbzTNA:Don't get it twisted son there are no igbos in Rivers State not even a single soul. What we have are land grabbing criminals from red mud enclave who are trying their best to steal other people's land.

The good thing I like most about all these threads being opened about the Ijaws is that they are all online noise. The matter ends here. I am from Opobo and Bonny is motherland. We are proudly Ijaws and there is nothing anyone from far away Anambra or Enugu or Abia close by can do concerning our lands. Normal online rants. So, like I always say, keep the threads coming, it's comic relief. Those of you saying Opobo n Bonny is Ibo land come to Bonny lemme show you your forefathers in chains. Always ask or find out, what were the names of King Jajas children. Jaja didn't name his children Ibo, why?? Enof said |

SlayerForever:Which paragraph? Is it of the second page I uploaded? If so, yes I did. It's an over 400 page research done by an Obolo man detailing the history of the Obolos. He wrote the various connections and history Obolos share with their neighbours. He quoted lots of sources including the field work he did to make his work one of the best references. In one of the numerous wars fought between Bonny and Obolos, one of the men that led the Bonny soldiers was named 'Okunnaya'. He died in that war. There are many things I've discovered so far between Bonny and Ndoki. The relationship is more cordial than any that Bonny shares with either New Calabar or Opobo. A lot of history was really altered to suit the narrative of the Ijaws. |

Ekealterego:You are right. The atrocities the Ijaws committed in collaboration with the federal forces are too numerous to mention! The evidence of their crime is everywhere in our communities, but our people are too scared to speak up. But time will tell. |

Ekealterego:You are 100% spot on. I will advice you to stop replying those Ijaw dic***kheads. They are more or less slaves in rivers state now. Take it to the bank, they will never smell the brick house. There are no Real ijaws in rivers state. What we have here now are political Ijaws! If you are looking for an ijaw man. Please proceed to Bayelsa state( southern ijaw precisely). Enough said!!! |

Ibani people of Bonny lga and opobo/Nkoro lga, are in all Ijaw socia-cultural organizations till today, without leaving one behind that they are not in, but they are not even in one Ibo own. All una lies and frustrations end on Nairaland. E no reach Ijaw land. |

SlayerForever:How far with your stupid research ![]() The aminadokiari people are kolokuma people but lost their language because of the proximity to NGWA land. NGWALAND are rivals to the ibibio/akpa people whom use to own Aro and the Eastern part of Abia state to present day akwa/cross whom they(NGWA'S) tag ndi'ohuhu in the olden days. The NGWAs use the aminadokiari-bonny trading route while the IBIBIO/AKPA used the Elem-kalabari route to export slaves and palm oil. The rivalry still was there in those days and the Bonny people for ONE of the THREE major reasons refused to let the slaves learn the ibani dialect because they didnt want the freed slaves to sell battle secrets/strategies or informations to their rivals (kalabari) The two other reasons were; *ibani was seen as sacred and wasn't fit for slaves to speak just as slaves or former slaves weren't allowed to sit on the throne. * To gain upper hands in transactions whenever they battered at the center of commerce "ndoki/imo river" because the ngwas were known to be crafty business people. Even till today, the NGWAs like to show craftiness (the slangs in Abia state is "ikpo-brain" ![]() I understand and speak Igbo, does it make me an Igbo man ![]() |
