He didn't. He is only trying to justify his senseless policy with lies. SSN isn't a national identity number like NIN. It is used for compiling work benefits for US citizens who work. As d name implies, social security is about welfare. So d govt uses the numbers to track the taxes or premiums paid while working which will be paid like a pension or insurance later on. Am sure the schemes mentioned are for d same purpose

I am not a fan of the man but what I understand after reading the article ( I don't know if you did), is that the is emphasizing the need for using the NIN for evey record requiring activity we do in Nigeria. He used the restaurant as an example to show how important it could be even for mundane things like going to a restaurant. I watch Discovery Crime Channel on DSTV and I envy the way it's easy for the Western world to just get a citizen's record by the click of a button. Abi o. Nobody is going to ask for Social security from you if you want to shop or eat at a restaurant in the US. I don't know why this govt believe in using maximum force for everything if not for some sinister motive.

They should make it mandatory for e hailing services to use NIN for registration

SIM reg, BVN, NIN, VOTERS Card, yet they still dey commit crime up and down,
Bandit & kidnappers still dey collect ransom, people still committing fraud with BVN and nothing is done,
Putting your BVN to collect loan and couldn't pay in time shouldn't let to harrassing your contact list but BVN should taken care of that.
