I don't understand. Is it that Nollywood does not pay much or is that these actors didn't manage their income well? Over the years I have read several cases of actors "begging" the public to come to their aid when faced with challenging health conditions.

I think most actors in Hollywood can easily handle their issues. Why is it different with us here?

Nollywood is is been funded by private individuals and as such the actors and actresses are paid peanuts

As someone who has worked in church, pastors are big time business men and women.

They see profitable business like anything.

They are connected to people and they easily get access and certain leverages for profitable businesses.

Absolutely.
They can go tell that "money no dey film industry" somewhere else.
We are not kids here.
Agreed ,they can't make as much money as their Hollywood counterparts but most times the people they beg from don't stand a chance of their earnings in their prime.
Some of these people do 4-5 movies a month then,when naira was still naira and could make as much as 250-300k then per movie for small time actors.
What happened to all that money?I guess it all went down to keeping up appearances and trying to impress cheap girls.

The movie industry in Africa is trash. I’m not even Nigerian and I’ve seen at least 100 movies that this man had a part in. This man has given his entire life to bringing joy to others and at a time like this, at least his health bills should be fully catered for. This industry has no love even for those who sacrificed everything for it. Sad.
