Former President Goodluck Jonathan is regretting joining politics.

According to him, he was not prepared when he joined politics in Bayelsa State.

He said he should not have joined politics.

Speaking at the gala night of the University of Port Harcourt Class ‘81 Reunion over the weekend in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Jonathan described himself as an introvert who was not cut out for politics.

The former Nigerian leader submitted that politics is meant for extroverts who are involved in a lot of conversations and negotiations, adding that introverts don’t well in politics.

Jonathan said,

“YOU KNOW THAT I DON’T KNOW IF I AM AN ACCIDENTAL POLITICIAN BECAUSE I AM SUPPOSED NOT TO BE A POLITICIAN.

“IF YOU PLOT A CURVE FROM INTROVERT TO EXTROVERT AND START FROM ZERO AS THE MOST INTROVERT PERSON AND 100 AS THE MOST EXTROVERT PERSON, AND YOU PLOT THAT CONTINUUM, I WILL BE BETWEEN 35 AND 45 ON THE INTROVERT SIDE. SO, I AM AN INTROVERT.

“AN INTROVERT IS SUPPOSED NOT TO BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS BECAUSE POLITICS INVOLVES MUCH TALKING AND YOU ALWAYS WANT TO SHOW YOUR PRESENCE. BUT SOMEHOW, GOD HAS A WAY OF SOLVING PROBLEMS.”

At the event, Jonathan who was given an award of honour by Class ‘81, expressed gratitude for the award and the pioneer graduates of the institution.

Hmm you had every chance to back off after serving as governor of beyelsa state yet you continued, still yet you weren't forced to take up position as vp and then president. Sometimes it baffles me if you guys sprew trash just to garner public sympathy or it's in the blood of every politicians .

George W Bush is an introvert. Today, you can't hear or see him attending just any functions. He's an highly private person. But that didn't stop him from leading the country positively.

oga lectural you forgot to consider environmental contribution and Team work with your analysis of leadership success. You speak well with your limit of experience but spoil everything with insult you add to it .Is that not part of leadership faliuor on your side? You can't lead alone but with poeple . What are the Type of poeple dominated political cycle in Nigeria? Compearing other country leaders with Nigeria means you lack knowledge of political , Environment and Immoral of many Nigerians interns of administrative towards governance in this country.
