When I got into the university, I had this unforgettable experience. Every night, I saw a few groups of students going to read. They would leave their hostels around 9pm and return by 6am to prepare for lectures.

We all admired them. As they walked back to the hostels every morning, people would shout 'Genius!' 'Brain!' 'Your head is so hot, it's on fire!" One day, I decided to join them.

That night, with my bag full of books, I walked to the largest hall used for overnight reading. I moved quietly to avoid disturbing the students reading inside. But when I entered the hall, my jaw dropped!

Many students were fast asleep. Some even brought mattresses and pillows along and slept until morning! Others were watching movies, conversing loudly and playing video games. I was somewhat disappointed!

I just walked quietly to a desk in the corner, lay down, used my bag as a pillow and slept off. The next morning, as I walked back to my hostel looking tired, what were people saying to me? 'Genius!' 'Brain!' 'Your head is on fire!' For Sleep I sleep

i remember back at school, when exam is approaching these unserious students will be forming stupid groups to read at nights, they choose whos house to read at this weekend, everyone will arrive at the chosen's house with their books and snacks and cereals or what ever, i always envy them

not knowing these bastards go their to gossip and smooch one another at nights

i was lucky one day to be chosen by helen, one of the most endowed students in my set, calabar for that matter

me when no take reading serious, i decided to honor it, to see if i can be serious with my studies for once, for this group, we have few other girls, with another guy with me.

i was looking forward to friday just for helen to call me on wednesday that we would no longer be having that group night reading again oo, say shes no longer interested... group don scatter, i just weak.

meanwhile helen get her own plans, thursday evening she called me that we will be having that night reading ooo, but just me and her at her place


me sef no be dodoyo, i say no wahala, i dey ready, friday morning she dragged me from school to go and see her place, i wasnt comfortable with her compound, 'men' too full that area. no be me dem go use shine for middle of the night, so i convinced helen to come to my place instead, lucky for me, my room mate dey travel back home that friday and return on sunday, just in time before exam starts on monday.

helen na calabar beast, before morning i don dey plan how i go take excuse run from my own house cos i cant stay in this same room with her for another night, na my dead body dem go carry next morning.

lucky for me, when morning reach she said she had to go back to her place cos her friend neighbor fell ill and no one at home to take care of her.

na so i take escape helen, but we still fixed matches after then, i had to japa when she was becoming too clingy and blocking my other parols

I know two people that had to drop their professional course because they went for tdb and missed their exams cause they slept off. They had to rewrite jamb.
My roomie and I went for tdb during first year. We got home by 6am, say make we sleep small as per say paper na by 8:30am.

We woke up around 8:20. My roomie go carry bucket, I tell am for where. Na only brush we brush go exam hall

Back then in school, I don't waste my time reading when exam timetable isn't out yet, it took me one whole semester to discover what works for me, so I don't try to copy others...my secret is that I pay good attention to lectures and make sure I grab the vital points, after that I won't go back studying because I see that as a waste of my time since I'm good at assimilating at first glance. Once timetable is out, and I have exam a day before or the next day that's when the spirit of reading and carrying out extra research comes in....I will spend the entire day in my room studying... the first time I tried it, I thought I might not be able to grab everything within that short time, but I noticed that once I'm in the exam Hall, everything starts replaying. I was even shocked by my ability to attempt all the questions successfully....
From that day, I decided to continue that way and I graduated....So Op is right, look for what ever works for you, don't copy others, back then I only go to class at night for browsing and downloading new movies... I understood myself.
